Your right but i meant the jumbo version of the older style VC Overseas what came out first... dont have exact pic (i got the cataloge with ref.nr. at home) but its this exact model just bigger: This more info i found: "...For a company that produces 12,000 watches per year, the Overseas is available in quite a few different varieties. There are four different sizes, at least 5 different dials, and each can be had in 18k yellow gold or stainless steel. There is a woman's size at 30mm, a boy's size at 34mm, a full-size at 37mm, and a chronograph at 40mm. Quartz movements are available on everything except the chronograph. Dials are available in a slate blue, white, salmon, and black. There are choices of stick markers or large arabic numerals. There are diamond bezels available for the women's watches." Concerning the Gentas designed watches and a decent rep of the AP RO jumbo (and non jumbo reg size) opinions may vary... IMO the (mbw) RO jumbo which is TW made is the best regarding quality of finish and material... and a beauty by the finish of the dial, the exact AP-PA clasp. There are few flaws but seen "as a whole" this model still stands out compared to others... Besides of the so called mbw ap ro jumbo i owned a CH version of it and still have a reg sized TW best 38mm case (display caseback, saphire) of the jumbo which is out of production and feels much better than the CH version... Even the sharp and crisp engraved "Royal Oak" on the backside of my newer version of the mbw jumbo is still much more better than the engravings on other versions. The Dial Logo "AP" is easily swapped with a replacement or gen one... color of gold-screws doesnt bother me that much at the moment. K these are the small bugs... as Rlx-Fanatics philosophize about the color of the little red letters on a TW best YM rolesium... But if you like or love? the style of the RO and your lookin for a daily beater the mbw/tw made versions are the way to go It doesnt even bother me that much that the "clous de paris" texture aint centered at the same place where the hole for the markers stands at the gen... but the "waved" design of the dial looks and glistens just fine to me... even more than on the gen. Another thing that seems very funny to me is that on many of the mbw RO jumbos the upper left bezel screw (from the 12) is crooked!! And i dont mean the attempts of some members to swap them.. but out of the box My first (blue one) came crooked too and i sent it back for a replacement... one of the 3 is still crooked but im too buzy doing somethin about this rite now. Now that I have a GEN I am searching to round out my Genta collection with a few Reps. Ideally, I would like to purchase the MBK/MBW Nautilus Jumbo (blue dial) but am finding them difficult to source. Any collectors or members that can be of assistance? jeff g Posted July 21, 2007 Report Share Posted July 21, 2007 This thread and the photos in it, inspired me to purchase this watch. Without doubt it is certainly the finest rep I have ever worn. Fit and finish is extraordinary. The thinness of the watch and size @42mm make it really comfortable on the wrist. I especially like the dial I was able to source with the unconnected dot pattern between the hour markers. Although I agree that the blue/green dial is an awesome coloring on this piece, I am very happy with the black, and am happy I chose it. From everything I have read this model seems to be closer to the original 3700 Nautilus design, although the current model 5711 has the same dial and a seconds hand with the sapphire crystal back. The rep seems to be a bit of both models. Although my pics aren't in the class of Euno or Ubi, here are a few to check out. I have to say that going for the full Gerald Genta collection is growing all over my wrist, but each time I see a RO or an Ingie on someone's wrist (I live in Paris, you can see those 'quite' often), I always end up saying "Great watch, but too big for me"... FasTTaP- The RO Jumbo is 38.7mm in diameter- And that one wears more like a 40mm - 42mm watch (very similar to the Nautilus in feel and appearance). But now I wear the Ingy, a 44mm PAM and will soon add both a RO Jumbo and PP Nautilus Jumbo to my collection. They'll look big on my wrist for sure, but my feeling is - if you like it (and it feels comfortable), wear it proudly . I visited Marcus today in Bond Street, London, which must be one of the best watch shops in the world. The layout, the collections, the aroma of serious money - amazing. A very friendly sales guy there was commenting on how watches are getting bigger and bigger, and that the trend shows no sign of slowing; apparently AP are planning a limited edition watch that comes in at 48mm! He also pointed to some Franck Mullers that make PAMs look small, and said that they're the most popular model with women at the moment. So all power to big watches on small wrists - it's the future! The bezel is badly scratched, the 4 lug screws do not sit into the hole with with same distance, second hand badly scratched, no hacking on the movement (wonder if it really is a Swiss ETA?), and worst the watch doesn't always run after winding - seems somehow I have to swing it hard to get the wheel start spinning, and the craftmanship is quite rough if you compare it with for example the Chopard GT XL/HBB. No sure if I have bad luck, but at the price I paid for sure it is nowhere can be rated as "super rep". thelawnmowerman Posted August 4, 2007 Report Share Posted August 4, 2007 I think if its as bad as you say, you should have had it changed, I'm really pleased with mine, I bought the Nautilus, the AP RO jumbo and the HBB at the same time and their probably the best reps I've bought except for maybe the Steelfish Superocean , but certainly the price the dealers are charging for these you shouldnt have had the problems you mentioned, Which dealer?.
