Chronus
I have! I am wearing the 196 right now but earlier this week wore the RXW and a Breitling Avenger Seawolf as well.
swdivad
Well, although I started this thread and intended to purchase it around that time, there was some kind of problem with my credit card, plus I was going away on holiday, so I didn't go through with the purchase. I also really wanted the two counter model, as I think the 3 counter is a bit busy, BUT I am still up in the air about it, but may go ahead... I am still on holiday for another 2 weeks, and I will be asking those guts if the 2 counter model will be made in the future... will definately jump on that one! kanerich
My guess is that none of these watches are sold out in truth, since they are all being offered on the Japanese website. The price premium charged to overseas buyers seems a bit excessive though, considering it amounts to almost double the Japanese MSRP. You'd have to want a $550 watch pretty badly to pay $1000 for it. You're damn right there I'm going to give that one a miss because of their 'high non-japanese customer price'... I didn't check the website close enough to see this, thanks for pointing it out... I'm definately not into that kind of treatment and will bring it to their attention with a request for the 2 counter model at normal prices. Willith
Once you go 44mm you can't go back I feel your pain with that one. I have a few watches smaller than 44mm, but they look like kid's watches. Now if they made something a little "larger" I might think about it or if they made it more financially sound (like give us regular pricing). Chronus
Didn't know about regular pricing until now. I should have tried to get hold of a Japanese guy I knew in university (in Japan) and got him to order it. Or a friend of mine who is moving there in the next couple of months. tech
Didn't know about regular pricing until now. I should have tried to get hold of a Japanese guy I knew in university (in Japan) and got him to order it. Or a friend of mine who is moving there in the next couple of months. Not sure where folks are reading about different pricing on this model....the japanese website advertises the Plasmir at 108,300 Yen...that is $974 USD...so I'm not sure where the "premium pricing" or overseas buyers having to pay more logic is coming from...as I paid $950 usd not including shipping. ...if someone could enlighten me...as my coworker is getting ready to purchase one..or at least reserve one no matter what the price...i'd like to make him an informed buyer. cheers Edited May 11, 2006 by tech
Chronus
I havent had time to look, but my guess would be that they looked at the Japanese language section and found differing prices.
