Hi, my grandmother knows I'm a huge watch fan, so she gave me this old pocket watch Longines that belonged to my grandfather, it's silver...it does need a great amount of restauration but it is worth it I think...hope you like the pics :D

Absolutely worth restoring... The value of such things goes far beyond any dollar amount possible, as it's a piece of your family history that will continue to live on.

I bet it will really bring a smile to your grandmother's face once it's done.

thks for the comments:) yes I will surely restore it, and it is worth much more than any money, at least to me....it has a grwat sentimental value:) She'll be extactic when it is done, and I'll post some pics after :D

Be careful with the restoration. Clean the dial but don't repaint it. The value will be higher with an original dial carefully cleaned than a complete redial. Not that you would ever sell it, but I feel the age adds character as well.

wow....thks for all the nice comments :) yes, I will make sure that restauration will not be a replace for new kind of thing, just want to clean it as much as I can without destroying all the character that the ae gives it :)

Really doesn't matter what you do the fact that it came from you Grandmother makes it irreplaceable, a wonderful piece of family heritage.

That's a beautiful piece.

You should weld some lugs on it, and wear it on your wrist :thumbsupsmileyanim:

yes, the I would love to be able to wear it...it does deserve to be used! I love it...now to save some money to restore it:) the thing is I also have a 1972 breitling datora that belonged to my father and he gave it to me, but alos need some restoration work..not as much as this one...but I have to restore one at a time... :) well...at least they are great projects and when they are done they'll look great...well, they already look...at least to me... :thumbsupsmileyanim:
