The value of such things goes far beyond any dollar amount possible, as it's a piece of your family history that will continue to live on. I bet it will really bring a smile to your grandmother's face once it's done.

jfreeman420 Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Be careful with the restoration. Clean the dial but don't repaint it. The value will be higher with an original dial carefully cleaned than a complete redial. Not that you would ever sell it, but I feel the age adds character as well.

I love it...now to save some money to restore it:) the thing is I also have a 1972 breitling datora that belonged to my father and he gave it to me, but alos need some restoration work..not as much as this one...but I have to restore one at a time... well...at least they are great projects and when they are done they'll look great...well, they already look...at least to me...
