yellomen Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 I'll miss you guys... it was nice meeting here... but there has come an end to that....:lol:
lello Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 (edited) I felt in love with this watch, especially after I tested one gen on my wrist a couple of weeks a go. It seams it just needs the right DW! I'm going to get one AT for sure and this means that I will also produce the DW for sure. Any idea where I can see some references to reproduce the right fonts? How many of you guys would be interested in getting the DW? -- Lello. Edited November 29, 2007 by lello
Watchmeister Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 And it works for the CD's amongst others as well. Will you delve into the day wheels as well?
eunomians Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Lello, get genuine ETA Day/Date wheels - they have the perfect font. I'd send you mine, but I don' have any extras anymore since they are installed in watches.

Hi David, are you saying that if we buy the day/date wheels from ETA they have the right font to fit on these IWC? If this is what you mean, it would be great, as I would save much time and efforts. But it looks a bit strange, because if it would be so easy, why these reps don't have the right font on it? I thought that the rep producers were buying at least DWs from ETA... Anyway, please let me know, many thanks. Edited November 29, 2007 by lello
eunomians Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Yes, it's that easy Lello. The only trouble is that the ETA Wheels are getting very hard to get since everybody in the rep world is buying them up. Here are 2 closes up of my 3717 with ETA wheels:
Pugwash Posted November 29, 2007 Author Report Posted November 29, 2007 How many of you guys would be interested in getting the DW? I'm fairly sure they're off-the-shelf ETA parts.
lello Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 I'm fairly sure they're off-the-shelf ETA parts. I'm going to try to get this DW by my spare part supplier, who use to deal directly with ETA at weekly basis. I will let you know if I will get it.
eunomians Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Hey Lello, if you can get them in bulk, let me know, I'll def. take a set or two Cheers man!
red Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Hey Lello, if you can get them in bulk, let me know, I'll def. take a set or two Cheers man! Hey Eurnomians, Is this the same datewheel for the valjoux 7750?
lello Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Hey Lello, if you can get them in bulk, let me know, I'll def. take a set or two Cheers man! I only ordered three sets, because I couldn't know exactly if anybody was searching for it. If you want, one set will be for you, as you told me about it.
eunomians Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 I'll def. take a set Lello! Thanks again, man!
lello Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 I'd take a set also Lello Hi Don, I will be happy to give you the second set. So now the three I ordered are all gone (one is for me ) I just hope they will come with the right font, as you all told me...
watcher Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Cousins sell them in the UK for very litle money. THe black wheels are special order but the white wheels are commom place.. They are only 3 pounds each so there is not point in you copying these Lello. You would have to put in too much effort for too little reward my friend.

Hi Paul, you might have missed what my conversation with Eunomians was, earlier on this post... I'm just buying already printed DW sets from ETA and I'm not thinking to reproduce them, right because I was informed they come from ETA, with the right font. This will let me spend my efforts on other models then. Eunomians and Dluddy asked me one set of these ones, I suppose because they are not so easy to get from other sources. I won't charge anything on these ones, just the price I will pay, plus shipping.
eunomians Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Let me know Lello when you know the total. Thanks again Cheers!
red Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Got mine today..... And it's perfect What do you mean perfect? Did you get double AR?
dluddy Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 It's double AR I suspect but not the same as a Chief or Jakob AR coating. The crystal smudges easily which usually indicates a top AR coat. By perfect I meant that the lume, markers and all other previous issues are not present on mine. I am actually OK with the AR and the datewheel as is but will probably mod them eventually.

hilts Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Much talk of DWs on this and other threads - any chance of a newbies guide to changing them yourself? Thanks Hilts
