drop Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Just curious, have the vintage MBWs always had hollow middle links? Based on some of the reviews I read, was expecting my watch to show-up with solid... Thanks.
cskent69 Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 It will show up with solid - unless something has changed very recently.
tmg Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Drop, I can tell you my last MBW from TTK that I received about a month ago (a WSD) came with hollow mid-links. My two previous MBW's, a 1680 and SRSD from WM came with solid. The end links are also the correct style that come without the springbar cutouts on the underside, but unfortunately they're still marked 503 instead of 580 or 585. A pleasant surprised to see the accuracy improvement albeit for a newer style buckle on a 93150 bracelet, but then again that's what you would get if the bracelet were replaced by RSC. Please let us know if this is the case with yours. -TMG
drop Posted July 15, 2007 Author Report Posted July 15, 2007 Precisely the case with mine, TMG. Except I have a DRSD from TTK... the endlinks are stamped 503 B. Again, I was quite surprised. Just got the watch a couple of days ago and thought, "hmm, this bracelet feels light." Finally got a minute to look at it today and saw those hollow links! I may be wrong, but I seem to recall a some pics from Stephane a week or so ago where it looked like the date font had maybe improved as well... I best check that too!

1665fan Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 I know from a very trustworthy person that the new MBWs have hollow mid links.

Is there a way to get just the bracelet, I have a MBW 1680, and the bracelet does not have the hollow mid links. thanks
HauteHippie Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 MBW / MBK vintages now come with hollow mid links...correct end links....and stamped 503B.....or a rivetted bracelet with folded links....! Good to hear. It is about time they did away with the older bracelets.
Stephane Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 I love the riveted ones TTK ! These Hollow's are only giving a "cheap" feeling to the entire watch... After all, what are the probabilities that a say 40 years old watch still has it's original bracelet ?!
