watcher
Andrew has listed it finally but his text says black dial!!!!! I sure hope it is not the case because to me it looks pretty much perfect comparing with my IWC catalogue pics.
verbal
Josh says it's blue dial with blue subdials... not enough coffee I guess Link: 2007 Cousteau This looks extremely good, wonder how the lume is... <-sigh-> which one to choose, Tag Aqua or 2007 Cousteau... docblackrock
Hmm, not a IWC aficionado by any means but I like to think I have an eye for detail, and I'm confused about that inner bezel ring between 0-15 Original (postponed/cancelled?) prototype pics showed no border just black band... Now we have Trusty's available model pics showing thick orange border between 0-15... Then to confuse things further we have IWC's official pic with a very fine orange border... And just to make things EVEN more fun, here's a pic of a gen 'real life' CD, note the 'midweight' border halfway between Trusty's and IWC pics... Confused??? I am. geo1nah2a
There are always differences between prototypes and final products.. Both for the genuine as well as the replica. I guess this is what the rep maker waited for: to see an actual photo of a genuine. Then he corrected these details and released it. ie The border should be visible. geo1nah2a
They didn't have to do that with the 2007 IWC CD version, because they had already dissected the 2006 version of it So, they only needed to change the color scheme to match the actual genuine watches sold.. cskent69
I like the Cousteau - but not this color combo. I agree - the first was better.
Watchmeister
I prefer the first dial as well. But the 2007 caseback is far more preferable - no fake wood with little boat on it. It still has my two big issues which is misaligned rotating bezel and sloppy marker lume.
Pugwash
Hmm, not a IWC aficionado by any means but I like to think I have an eye for detail, Did you notice the bezel not aligning exactly with the 12-o-clock markers?
SAS
I like the Cousteau - but not this color combo. I agree - the first was better. it's all what I like in this watch we all have mostly (but I'd rather said only) white, black, black and white, white and black dials. I'm not against the idea of putting some fresh colors in my collection.
SAS
Did you notice the bezel not aligning exactly with the 12-o-clock markers? That's true... but the bezel is rotating... so you just have to turn the 4' pusher to align it. did I said something stupid ?
geo1nah2a
The inner bezel is turning, but has 60 clicks. A misaligned inner bezel will not sit sharp on the correct marks. You could "correct" it by nudging it a bit before it snaps to the next click.
docblackrock
Did you notice the bezel not aligning exactly with the 12-o-clock markers? Yes, but ignored it because I thought the inner bezel rotates independently of the hour markers? Hard to tell alignment sometimes from angles. robertk
Actually, everything does align according to Josh. I like all the versions, but stepped up to this one. As someone else said, I also like a little color in a watch. This one's a beauty, and I'm gonna enjoy it.

I just hope this isn't a cartel exclusive. BTW that faux wood on the 2006 killed it for me, and I much prefer the engraved diver.

Amplitude
Yes, but ignored it because I thought the inner bezel rotates independently of the hour markers? Hard to tell alignment sometimes from angles. I've checked out the gens, it does rotate independently, but with "clicks", so if it's misaligned it may be a difficult fix. Jawo
I think the bezel alignment is really hit and miss. The wierd thing is that the one I bought sits virtually bang on after the click. I sent my 2006 to The Zigmeister for a ETA and datewheel swap. Also the infamous superluminova application. This is perhaps my favorite rep. I am very tempted to buy the 07 model as well.

robertk
Yes, it's really close. I have compared mine with a gen at Tourneau's and I could NOT find a difference. Even the strap is very close. .....and my bezel is not misaligned. maybe luck of the draw?
