Bell & Ross Phantom reps?

crunch

Recommended Posts

there are some phantom reps but our dealers don't carry them because they are not of the quality we are used to have...I've heard that it is being replicated (quality should be the same as for the other B&R reps available) right now, and it should be released soon...hope the lume is going to be decent...that's my only worry...

I just ordered a B&R0194 Phantom from Eurotimez. He assured me that it's quality would be as good as the other B&R's in his shop. Due to eurotimez reputation here on the board I don't have a doubt about the quality.

I'll post a review as soon I've got the watch in my hands.

Cheers

I didn't spot any B&R's on eurotimez site, am I missing something?

I checked B&R official website for the Phantom and it looks really cool, but I would guess that a rep without lume or a bad lume would be a nightmare with the Phantom...but it looks *damn* cool.

I have actually asked for a qoute from Eurotimez for this BR:

but if the Phantom is a good rep, I would happily go with that too...

When you do get the watch, please share your thoughts on it and post pics please...

How much did you get it for?

Here is a link to a actual pic of my watch.A Bell & Ross 42mm Chrono with two subdials. You can buy a 3 dial version for the 42mm but it is not offered on the Gen Bell and Ross. I feel the 46mm is far to big for me. I also have the rubber strap and it looks nice but is not as comfortable as the Nylon (on order).

I recommend the quartz models with Sapphire Crystal. I paid $ 223 delivered with EMS shipping. I ordered the Nylon but was sent the Rubber so the Dealer is sending me the Nylon regular airmail.

I will for shure post a review of that watch as soon I hold it in my hands. A proper lume was one big point I asked for, before placing my order. According to Eurotimez reputation I think It'll be just all right.

The lume on mine is pretty bad. If I hold it under a light for one minute and take a pic in pitch darkness it looks like a torch for 10 seconds and is then dim from there on. My hands are the white ones but the lume shows up as blue. The indexes show up as white. I would be careful about the phantom and the B & R models with the blue hands or indexes. I have read several reviews where the owners had buyers remorse. The dark hands and indexes on the dark dial make it difficult to read. I would go for the white hands.

I am halfway through buying this BR01-94:

http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/nn154/e...nt=DSC04756.jpg

from Eurotimez, but one thing that bothers me a little when I asked about the model is that the movement is "Swiss Quartz" which in my mind indicates a batterydriven movement...?

Am I correct in this?

If so, what do you think about using a Swiss Quartz movement in this rep?

I have the same watch but in 42mm. The movement is accurate, reliable and precise. There are no automatic chronos for Reps that I know of. Even if there were I would buy the quartz. I would also do search on here and on other forums of the 46mm and 42mm being on wrists of similar sized folks. The watch looks much larger than than the specs. The 42mm wears like a 46mm and the 46mm looks like a 50mm. It is due to the square shape. THe 46mm looks like you are wearing a clock. I usually wear my Graham Chronofighter 46 mm and both watches cover similar area due to the square shape of the Bell & Ross. Find pics n the internet.

Here is a link to the Genuine Bell & Ross website. They have a forum like ours also. the catalogue is helpful as it shows which watches are currently in production. For instance the 3 sub chrono is only available for the 46mm and the 2 sub chrono is available only for the 42mm. You can also see how the Rep chronos ride higher on the face(my watch up a few posts) vs the genuine that is dead center on the dial.

http://forum.bellross.com/ (Forum like ours but for Gen and prices are $ 5000 ! )

http://www.bellross.com/ (enterance to the offical Bell and Ross Website) look under catalogue

http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=178814 (Forum of General watches 46mm on wrists to see size)

You can see the 46mm is HUGE on most folks wrists. I would strondly suggest the 42mm and the quartz model chrono. The rubber is not that comfortable. It is rubber but to hard. The best rubber strap is the Graham and I am spoiled.

*groan*

Oh. man...is that really the 46 mm B&R...looks like someone said, like a wall-clock strapped to the arm...

It is definately *NOT* going to be a 46mm for me then...

I looked some further and found a 42 mm version here:

http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...cd3a1bd958a8adc

This one has only 2 subdials as the 42mm should as Steve mentions above.

The only thing that I could have some comments on is that the strap is nylon and it seems that only the 46mm has rubber straps that you can buy...

Do anyone of you have a pic of the 42mm strapped on to the wrist?

I purchased the 42mm version you are interested in from Trusty time like you show in the link. I ordered that exact watch but it was sent with the rubber strap . It is funny that the rubber strap on that model is not even offered on his site. I love the watch but I don't like the stap. (That is why I didn't order it in the 1st place). It is rubber but is sort of hard. It sure looks nice. I have 7 5/8 inch wrists and the watch fits on the 2nd to last or the last hole depending if my wrists are swollen. In the summer months I have sound my wrists are 8 inches and 7 3/4 in the winter. I feel the Nylon will be a better more comfortable fit for me. The Dealer sent out the nylon strap and gave me tracking # but It could take up to a month (Not EMS like the watch) from the date he sent it (I hope not). I will take pics with the Nylon strap when I get it . The tracking on the cheaper Email tells you when the package was sent and no other info. It is not like EMS tracking where you can trace the shipment the entire trip. I have no negative feelings with the Dealer. I just wish I got the watch with the strap I ordered the first time. His web site says they check all orders to make sure the watch works and is the right one prior to shipping. I am not sure I belive the statement.
