Over the past few months I have noticed that there seem to be a lot of threads started, simply for the purpose of receiving some kind of feedback. Topics like "What do you think of cluttered dials" or "Look how many watches I have" seem to be more a cry for help from attention starved wannabes, and tend to be void of any meaningful information. Now, I don't mind partaking in the odd casual conversation, but it seems to me that RWG has been flooded with this kind of stuff of late. For me, posts with actual "content" are becoming harder to find.

I know I'm not the only one that feels this way, so I thought I'd pose the question.

Are there too many "fluff" posts on RWG lately?

Andrew, real men say things out loud without dancing around a topic. So say what we all know you're saying, like a man.

As an aside, I have always found your attitude completely irrational. It saddens me about human nature, that when a person disagrees with someone politically or about some topic, comes from a different background, strays a little out of the norm, or is another gender, that a person becomes incredibly antagonistic towards that person in general.

If you have a problem with a certain individual, their personality, or their manner of posting, the answer is QUITE SIMPLE: "Ignore".

You'll find the universe a much better place, and RWG a paradise.

Please do so for those who trouble you, and do not drag RWG into these kinds of "fluff" posts yourself.

@Andreww

Actually this is a pretty good Topic...

I look forward to see what kind of feedback it gets...

Can't help but think as of late that RWG has become a Personal Blog for some people...

TT

PS: The ignore feature really doesn't work, it simply stops the actual post from being displayed but not all the Spam in the search engine...

HOnestly isnt that the point of a forum, for people that have love for a hobby to log on make friendships and talk to one another???

If people go a little off topic just ignore it no??? Ironic how your question about too much fluff actually is a "fluff" thread in itself no?

OK, so I couldn't resist just posting to hear myself type... ;)

But seriously, this is a really nice community, and we should be able to have light as well as serious discussions on and off topic (in the off topic forum). If you guys have interpersonal issues, just solve via PM please and don't drag the rest of us down.

And now that you have personally insulted me VB, it's on. If you must know, I do believe that you are using RWG as your own little "Blog". Your overwhelming post count in such a short period of time is nothing more than flooding IMO. Very little useful information has come from them. You act like a pompous know-it all, and your constant name dropping sickens me. I seriously doubt most of your fantasy world claims, and believe your are simply trying to gain credibility, not with knowledge, but with volume of posts.

Man enough for ya?

Two Tone, I am well-aware that you are the Co-Admin here, but let me tell you something. Your tone of disrespect towards me is horrific. I was deeply hurt by it in another thread, something which you continue here in allusions.

I am not really worried about me, because I have the good regard of other Moderators and I have the balls the size of a woolly mammoth.

But it tells newbies who wish to become a little more active than just being occasional posters, that their contributions will meet with the same lack of respect, the same disdain, and perhaps even cyber-targetting from certain quarters, if they are more individualistic.

The last quarters who should be targetting these people, should they want an involved and involving forum.

So if IGNORE doesn't work for you, I see resorting to nitpicking, and ridiculing will do for you. I personally won't stand for it.

Should I see it happening to anyone else, I'll speak even more in outrage.

Finally, because I refuse to visit this thread again, let me just say this:

You cannot choose your forum companions. Some will be honest, some dishonest. Some will be talkative, some will post once a year. Some will be male, some female. Some will be straight, some gay. Some will be black, some white, and many shades in between. And some will be rich or poor.

You cannot socially engineer any social group. To do so smacks of something much deeper than just mere dislike.

And that's scary.

Never EVER thought this forum, of the three I frequent, would be the one where I would have to say these things. RWG is better than that. I AM SURE of it.

Certainly, but we are talking over 3600 posts in a handful of months. Thats not friendly banter, it verges on spam if you ask me!

Whoa whoa whoa, if you guys have a personal beef take it to pm but if you are wondering I just joined myself and VB has actually been one of the most helpful people I have talked with.

I always see people yelling at noobs to use the search button which I do but instead of yelling at them wouldnt it just be easiest to answer them if the answer is a simple one? IMO thats what VB does.

Before you go throwing insults maybe look in the mirror to see what the REAL problem is???

Mr. Miyagi says, let's not forget that I am also a paying member & contributor as well...

And as such, very much entiltled to my opionion...

Which happens to be one that agrees with Andreww...

And trust me, that's not always the case...

I agree with andrew as well.

RWG (in my opinion) has become sort of an "Anne Landers" board. It is and has always been a "Replica Watch Forum", but lately it seems as if it's someone's (VB's) personal stomping ground and blog.

And I am certainly not referring to not helping new members out, as jsmith11 pointed out.

I am referring to the never ending posts about who met or read or saw what with who when and where while looking or wearing whatever...name dropping has gone to another level alltogether.

I have lost most of my interest in visiting, and all my interest in spending hours doing up an informative "Watch" related post, why bother, it's either going to be hijacked, or ignored over the other non watch stuff.

If this continues as it has - unabated - then as it goes on and on, my involvement on RWG will simply diminish over time.

Don't play games with me. It makes you look bad.

You do a pretty good job of that yourself.

Something I've not really understood until now Miss V is that you seem to get away with insulting other members of this forum without sanction. Maybe it is because the insults go unnoticed in the flood of puff, but I'll defend andreww to the hilt as an upstanding senior member of this forum.

You, I don't know who you are, but an apology is appropriate here.

as an fairly old member of this forums and towards this topic i think VB is doing well in keeping this forum alive(by that i meen activ posting) on all forums their will be diffrent types of people and if you cant handel that then its your problem..if i dislike some peoples posting i tend not to read them its not that hard.

its ok to not agree to what a members is doing but as long as its on the line of forums rules and dont break them its not much you can do but ignore it.

or is it?

These are the kind of comments that are heard often in private...

And they're also the kind that worry me...

Ziggy is a staple on this Forum, and only this Forum...

His lack of participation would be a great loss for this community...

Hello,

You are an embarrassment to the community here, Andrew. I used to respect you before I read this, but insulting a woman, over the internet, that just shows what kind of a man you are... you must be a real p*ssy in real life my friend... shame on you and I hope miss Victoria ignores this entire topic. She is a very kind person whose posts entertain me, and she has not broken any of the rules of this website thus your accusations are unfounded and downright insulting. You are a disgrace and for this post I would ban you from here forever. Don't like it? Leave.

The Zigmeister: Don't like it here? Same thing, leave.
