chronology1066 Posted December 31, 2007 Report Share Posted December 31, 2007 There are quite a few cheaper hotels out near the gard du nord (is that right????), (Brussels) It is also a doddle by underground/taxi/or bus to get to the town center. You can walk it in about ten- fifteen minutes. It's the wrong part of the town unless you want criminality, girls in windows and porn cinemas Of course, if you stay in your Sheraton room...no risks! The place to be is what we call "le haut de la ville" wich is around avenue Louise; and I'm pretty sure there are "cheaper" hotels in that area too. You have trendy bars, restaurants, shopping all around that area and watches (ADs and Second Hand). By the way, I voted for Brussels, my town, but I'm ok for Madrid too...a little sun is fun. BTW 2: plenty of communication with Brussels: trains and ariplanes of course but also splendid highways from France, Germany, UK, Netherlands... So if we agree that that is to be the location how many would attend depending on time. shall we chose a date the same way, i think it should be a sat night to allow every one time to travel. I mean it wouldnt be the first time a bunch of people said they would come for shure and then NOT come. Most people say they would come, but in the end they just dont. Last time we reserved a table for what, like 10 poeple and we were 3 (thats THREE!). I would be for paderborn aswell because I'm stationed close to paderborn. I have just been to bruxelles for new years and its a PAIN IN THE BUTT if you drive a car there. I would certainly attend if its not too far away and if i'm not at the Hindu Kush by then. I could also ask Thor to come, he has been up for these meeting in the past and he is known to actually SHOW UP and not back out in the last minute. Also ask Tanfo. edit: as for Hotels in burxelles, i can recommend Husa President Park, its 4* Hotel in the financial district. Its got plasmas, king size beds, mini bars etc. all in the room. If you are claose to PB, PM,me if you want to meet up for a beer any time, If we do get somehting sorted out for Brussels we could share travel costs. I hear you about future travel posibilitys though. I am planning an extended holiday too, one of two locations but i dont get to choose! Too many financial commitments and a trip for a birthday in late Feb have pretty much taken all my spare cash for a while. It now turns out, I'm likely to be heading over to Japan some time during the year (Yes, I would like to go, but, now my fiance's got the idea in her head, we're going to have to make it happen, and the cost of that isn't going to be chump-change... ) When a date's decided, let me know, and if I can make it, I'll certainly do my utmost to attend. I'm not scared of meeting folks off the net, belonging to an online tattoo community means I'm pretty used to it. My only reasons for not attending, will be purely financial.
