pizzanooo Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 I agree, this shot is hot. Lets not let it out to the general public. I have the same piece modded, and wish I could capture it as well as FxrAndy did on this shot.
Pix Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 ...today... That might change tomorrow. Fortunately
TWP Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 Well not officially in my collection yet, but in route from GZ. Been wanting this one for a long time
Pix Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 I know I'm a relative newbie, and saying this might be forced, but I_M_H_O, this is the best photo shown of a rep watch on RWG this year. ...a pity that there's no seconds@6 to freeze on this one...
rower Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 From my wife with a lot of great memories!
FxrAndy Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 I agree, this shot is hot. Lets not let it out to the general public. I have the same piece modded, and wish I could capture it as well as FxrAndy did on this shot. On a phone cam as well
POTR Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 All of my watches are my favorite... but, if I said that the "best" in my collection was a gen with a VJ 72C would you understand my reluctance to post pictures? However, I did just finish cleaning and servicing the movement of my recently wristied Elgin, so, I will take the opportunity to show it off a bit more, if only to enhance other's appreciation of vintage pieces... I haven't polished the crystal or case yet... that's for another day. This movement is a 17 Jewel, Grade 524 Elgin, one of 7000 produced in 1936. This movement was made from 1935 to 1939 and there were a total of 157,000 made. It still wears a nearly perfect flat nickel finish... These are not quite impossible to find parts for yet, but proper cleaning and servicing is a must, as when parts wear out, they are getting harder and harder to find. This one also just got a new screw when I was putting it back together, because one screw-head was a bit butchered from who knows what watchmaker in the last 72 years getting a bit rough with it. Can you tell which screw is just a little "sharper" looking? And, just a thought, but how many of your reps are going to be running and looking this good in your grandkids hands 70 years from now? This gen has a really good chance of still being around even then...
hambone Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 This one takes it for sure. BTW congrats to WP on your new HBB, you are going to love it.
Bazz Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 For me it would be my 1665, by no means the most worn watch in my collection but the combination of difficult to find gen parts and doing all the mods myself make it hard to go past. My old, old school omega 007 also with gen parts comes in a close second.
marianetty Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 This is the watch that Im using more right now, this one and my Davidsen 111h This one has doble AR and I have changed day and date wheel
a german in denmark Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 That's difficult... I like this one a lot, it's getting more wrist time than the others (that can change, though...) Cheers, Volker
Ptolomeo Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 Mark (Finepics) did this one for me... a real beauty The strap is by Simona (a very good Vic's advice)
By-Tor Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 I guess the Aquaracer chrono is my favorite watch of them all.
