UB7 Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 I was really excited for this one, and what made it even better was that it came on a Sunday...I think thats a first for me! Well, here it is..The ice bang light and man this watch is a BEAUTY!! The way this watch is finished is really incredible! The PVD on the case and the clasp has a sheen and polished finish and the dial and bezel are gorgeous! The black datewheel and the all silver hands is a really nice touch which I think sets this particular model apart from all the other HBB's...I have a ceramic polished bezel on the way from angus and I might see how it looks on the ice but i'll probably end up putting it on my PVD lite..Anyways, I have promised a bunch of people pics so here they are! wrist shot: And heres the genuine 1st generation ice bang with the tantalum bezel
deltatahoe Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 wow -- looks great. i like the combination of ss and pvd/black on this one -- very nice. quick question (hard to see from your picture) -- is the rotor engraved or does it have stickers? congrats on the new purchase deltatahoe
b16a2 Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Looks great! Something about the design of these watches that I can't help but like! Wear it well
UB7 Posted January 6, 2008 Author Report Posted January 6, 2008 The rotor has the decal/sticker but I think it looks better than that engraved one
yellomen Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Thanx UB7 for posting so quickly! Oh man... this one just made it to the top of my wishlist! An excellent balance between the HBB 'presence' and a distinct subtleness.
lanikai Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Glad that made your weekend UB.. looksssss.. SSSssswweeeeettt.. buddy... wow and you can even interchange case set parts.. ccooool LIVE STRONG AND WEAR THEM WELL..
UB7 Posted January 6, 2008 Author Report Posted January 6, 2008 Thanks guys! @yello - I would highly recommend this watch, its the best looking HBB around IMO
gregers Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Any issues with the strap with this one?
doc savage Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Well, that settles it for me. To clarify; this is the Ice Bang Lite, right?
UB7 Posted January 7, 2008 Author Report Posted January 7, 2008 @doc - Correct, its the ice bang light - the only difference between the light and the 500$+ version is the AR
Gil Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I don't get it. Why is that a "special" watch? What about it makes it different than any other watch? Just wondering. I like Panerai watches and people ask me that question. When I see HBB watches that's what comes to mind for me. They kind of seem like a hybrid of AP ROOs. I choose the AP. Other opinions?
UB7 Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 Gil, i wasn't saying that its different than any other watch. The black datewheel and the all silver hands is a really nice touch which I think sets this particular model apart from all the other HBB's. I was just saying that the dial colors, the silver hands, and the black datewheel set this model apart from most others HBB's and make it unique in my opinion thats all..And i would agree with you totally, I love AP's, they are in many ways similar to the big bangs..I also love pam's all great watches
thecrow Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I was thinking of purchasing the Black Magic but I may change my mind now......sweet watch!!
gregers Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 It may not be quite as dramatic looking as some of the other variants, but I think that there is something more coherent about the overall design of the Ice. It is a really impressive piece. Is it widely available, yet?
Velasco Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Mine is on the way... Man, you made my wait even harder! Thank you for sharing!
alanytical Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Nice pics. I just finished ordering one for myself.
