b16a2
SOSF! I have one for sale in the for sale section as we speak (page 2)
mezzanine
I would go for a stainless steel Hublot Big Bang. Hard to imagine topping that watch in the price range we're talking about. Unless you don't like the style of it.
PAMman
Breitling SOSF or Breitling Heritage. Both ETA movements and require no mods. Edited March 31, 2008 by PAMman
piratedzeus
Heritage is not accurate that much. Crown & datefont & some dial flaws.

zzipy
Chopard Milli Miglia GMT. Awesome.
stenofsweden
Thanks everybody... I never imagine my self with a Breitling, but the white Steelfish with black or brown leather is awesome You say that there are 2 versions (god/bad) out there, how do I find the better one? I usually buy from PT or Joshua....
jeff g
'Best'? Personally I feel the nicest watch I have seen or worn in a long time is the Breitling Heritage. Although it is certainly not a perfect rep of the gen, it is damn close. But that is not the point. Point is...the Heritage is a beautiful watch. It has a lot of presence on the wrist. It is handsome. It sparkles. Best out of the box? - MBK Nautilus.

I know it's impossible to find gen-like Panerai, because there is no even close replica :-) What about Hublot BB? any comparisons to gens? :-) Thanks!!! Corgi
Best out of the box? - MBK Nautilus. In terms of manufacturing quality, I agree - but in terms of accuracy, no way - too many obvious mistakes. It's still a nice watch though. jdavis
This proves that opinions are like noses , everyone has at least one. So,.....here is mine: Hublot BB (ceramic is best but too expensive) Tag Aqua Racer Super Sea Dweller Brietling SOSF Omega UPO Remember that there is something flawed about any and all reps, some are just better than others. b16a2
It may not be as accurate as the SOSF but it is accurate enough to warrant being put in the same class as the SOSF. In terms of accuracy I would put it just behind the SOSF, but way ahead of watches such as the UPO.
Newdoc
Agree with above. The flaws in the Heritage commented on here are well known but it's still fantastic out of the box and very affordable. Theyre fixable too
By-Tor
Most accurate reps that I'm familiar with: SFSO (black is probably the best choice, because reports say the blue isn't 100%) TAG Aquaracer chrono (ditto. Blue is not 100% accurate) Explorer II Noobfactory (old version, correct hand stack, black dial) Noob 16710 GMT (correct hand stack, better dial. This is an extremely rare find. Both "Noobs" have an oversized crown though) TAG Link Chronograph BCE double-AR (ultimate) UPO SMP Chronograph Explorer I ETA There are lots of more, but I'm not that familiar with PAMs, HBB, Chopards, etc. Super SeaDweller is a nice rep, but definitely doesn't belong into this list... due to its completely wrong looking front appearance. solchitlins
I think the SMP Chrono and the Tag Link Chrono are still awesome reps if you like the style.
scoobs1971
I think the SMP Chrono and the Tag Link Chrono are still awesome reps if you like the style. The blue Tag Link Chrono is more accurate than the wrong coloured 'grey' version. Apart from the wrong date font (replacable with standard ETA DW), the only 2 minor flaws in the dial that I know of are the missing lume marks on the inner bezel (white paint instead) and the fonts that are too close to the tick marks of the running seconds subdial. Other than that it's a real beauty and in the top 10 of most accurate reps.

jeff g
I wish Pug would get a Heritage...then his photo of it would be an even better photo than that of his SOSF. THAT photo sells more SF's than any rep or gen photo ever has. There is only one Breitling for me...The Heritage RULES.
Pugwash
I wish Pug would get a Heritage... It's on my list ... but my wallet can't keep up. ps. My Father-in-Law has the SFSO for the moment. His Festina's battery ran out.
