trademark2k6 Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 title says it all. who is the cheapest collector in general?
AllergyDoc Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 "Cheapest" as in what? Sells for the lowest price? Your local Chinatown. Some "collectors" sell good watches for about $100. You need to look at their offerings. Be aware, though. Sometimes "cheap" is cheap. Would you do "$1.99: all you can eat"?
Pugwash Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 I'd say Silix and PAM111 and of the two, Silix gives the better service. Oh, but cheap doesn't mean best, but if I'm looking for something at the more budget end, I usually look at Silix first.
Kiterpete Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 I'm new to the forum as well and have done some buying from dealers. My first instinct was to go with the recommendation of the people on this site. They have been at this a lot longer so it was easy to make a decision after doing some research. Although it does appear that 'getting what you pay for' does apply with the dealers that appear on this site my main concern was that I not only get a half decent watch but that my well earned cash wasn't going to go off in to 'the great internet fraud bank in the sky' I recently became a 'paid member' and as has been mentioned a whole new world of information has become available. Have i been here for years? nope - neither have I accumulated a vast collection of rep's (yet) but somewhere here I read. Pick your dealer - then pick your watch. I maybe wrong but it seems to have worked well for me given my short exposure to this 'hobby' title says it all. who is the cheapest collector in general?
Chronus Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) good service, quality and low prices? silix and narikaa. Edited April 9, 2008 by Chronus
KB Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 I'm the cheapest collector! My cat died of thirst the other day because I didn't want to spend the money on a bowl of water........now that's super cheap! Ken
Dave123 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Ya,i was going to say the cheapest 'collector' would be Doc,i think he buy's from Silix....thats cheap...... Hmm,i think your talking about dealers... Ruby is tops in all categories....
trademark2k6 Posted April 9, 2008 Author Report Posted April 9, 2008 thanx to thoes who answererd proply :| still learning you see
yim156 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 How about the reasonable price seller with great watches? Thankz
Dave123 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Ruby, all you will ever need.... Lesson over....
Pix Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 If you talk about the cheapest for the same watch, Silix is always a bit under the others. Otherwise you can't compare. I must say I'm not so comfortable with him, don't know why. That's an other story, as Silix is usually appreciated here. But you'll see that depending on your relationship with some dealers you can negociate prices...
prince458 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 if it's "cheapest collectors / dealers" i'm going with tony and mark --- never had the pleasure of dealing with any of silix's sites. if it's individual collector like forum member ... then it's me hands down - i won't rebuttal any flame remarks ... because i am naturally cheap except for clothes, golf attire and equipment and shoes (you have to be comfortable if you do allot of walking) so who's the cheapest collector .. that is ME MYSELF and I
prince458 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Ruby, all you will ever need.... Lesson over.... oh dave when i was buying i like to spread the good fortune ... though i never tried ruby. maybe one day i will get that opportunity ... see you around the forum campuses
prince458 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 title says it all. who is the cheapest collector in general? friend as you can discern from the responses so many variants to your question ... oh what to do? what to do? best of luck with your soon to be obession of replica watches.
Toadtorrent Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 If you talk about the cheapest for the same watch, Silix is always a bit under the others. Otherwise you can't compare. I must say I'm not so comfortable with him, don't know why. That's an other story, as Silix is usually appreciated here. I've had good experiences with Silix. He takes a bit longer to communicate, and sometimes to get stuff out to you...but, his "water resistance" testing is "included" take that for what it's worth...but the CHRONOS I've received from him that were supposedly tested, both came sound past 50m by a Bergeon tester in Canada. He is helpful...just slower.
Pix Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I bought from him twice, for price reasons indeed. And it went very well. I just have better feelings with my current dealer. But Jay is a good dealer for sure.
