highoeyazmuhudee Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 yeah the rehaut engraving says to me "look what we did, nah nah " speaks more like an ad about some of the features, for others to boast about. if they put the depth rating on the ring instead of the dial, and made "sea-dweller" in red print thatd be way more exciting

I have a nice slot waiting for it in the back of 1 of my cases where it will sit, nearly motionless, to be loved & admired under glass, which is where it looks best. Now, if you want to talk about the new White Gold Sub...........THAT is a watch that I would happily wear. It is obviously no longer a tool watch, but with jeans & a tee......smashing

I'm going to be happy with the 116710 for a while anyway with the strides in the quality of reps they would regress going back to pics to replicate a timepiece.. although I'll never say never.. not for now anyway..

chrgod Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 I don't really get the new SDDS... At first I found it horrible, now I just find it strange... The enlarged pearl might make it easier to turn the bezel, but on a tool watch it is vulnerable to be knocked out of position. Is the rehaut as "wooky" as in the pictures? And the "Ring lock system" is it a new invention, or just the same old clicking bezel?

The "ROLEXROLEXROLEX" is still there, it has a weird two tier rehaut, you can just about make it out in the picture, if you look closely.....

I only buy watches I will actually wear I will get the new GMT2 soon, however if they replicate a DeepSea 99.99% accurate to genuine, I will still not buy it...... It is a carbuncle of a watch to my eyes
