richard lawton Posted June 26, 2008 Author Report Posted June 26, 2008 Hi Sql Yes I have the MBW AP ROO with the Swiss 7750 sec @ 9.00 as well. The MBW has a slighly better finish smoother edges and general better "feel" but it's twice the price of the new sec @ 12.00 model!!! Will try to post a side by side pic tonight Regards Richard
italiano17771 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 very nice richard. i was so close to buy this watch as well, but decided to wait for the rubber strap. thanks for sharing the first pics!
KB Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 One question. It seems that the bezel screws stick out a little bit. Especially at the 5 and 8 marker. The one at 10 seems to be like it should be. Is this something you will also see in real life or is it just the picture? I think it's a bit of an optical illusion, you are seeing the edges of the countersunk area as the screws being raised. Ken
MADRED7 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 A TRY TO EXPLAIN THE DATE-POSITION (MBW vs. new sec@12): ...as it was suggested before. The position of the datewindow on the dial is absolutely correct, and it can only be the same position as on the previous MBW version (same movemet...base-like, and they did not move the datewheel...NOOOOO). Looking closer to my MBW
sander Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I think it's a bit of an optical illusion, you are seeing the edges of the countersunk area as the screws being raised. Ken Well if I look closely it really seems that some screws are sticking out off the bezel and some don
manuel Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 (edited) sandwich case like gen? how good are the bezel screws? Waiting to see the rubberclad version with rubber bezel. Thanks Richard for the pictures. Edited June 26, 2008 by manuel
Flashman Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Well if I look closely it really seems that some screws are sticking out off the bezel and some don
Guest Sql_pl Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Well if it really is a sandwich construction I guess it is all about tightening the back side screws so that the bolts in the bezel get in deeper. But it is just a guess from my side.
Mickey Padge Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Just unscrew the offending screw and shave a bit off the top, re-finsh to a polished shine and replace
Guest nikos1978 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 i think that the factory put these ap offshore about for some memeber buy it and without do qc i think that maybe after 2 month will be correct the flaw it is easy fix for factory
Guest nikos1978 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 see joshua the screw is ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Watchmeister Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Beautiful watch. Wear it well. I will ultimately give in. It is just a matter of when.
MAHLER Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Damn... this rep its evil ... I'm tempted to buy one... Mahler resist ... resist !!
ExtraExtra Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Interesting differences. So when the dealer says its 1:1 and made from original....was it really?
Mickey Padge Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Interesting differences. So when the dealer says its 1:1 and made from original....was it really? Pretty much so yes, within the limits of the modified 7750 movement used.....
richard lawton Posted June 26, 2008 Author Report Posted June 26, 2008 Hi All Here as promised my new seconds at 12.00 Asian 7750 next to my MBW Swiss seconds at 9.00 (Note the Swiss is over double the cost of the Asian). The MBW does have a better "Feel" if you know what I mean!!! Regards Richard
Mickey Padge Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Thanks for that The bezel on the MBW looks nicer, the screws appear more uniform and of a higher quality...
richard lawton Posted June 26, 2008 Author Report Posted June 26, 2008 Hi All Since I took the above photos I have tapped down the screw heads on the bezel and tightened the screws on the back as the screws do go straight through the watch. Problem solved !!! Also tested the movement on my timing machine and it's gaining +2 to 3 sec per day Best Regards Richard
italiano17771 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 thanks for the info about the screws. was a little worried about that one. seems like an easy fix.
By-Tor Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 That is a damn impressive watch Richard. Enjoy! PS: You could post a pic of your amazing colletion one of these days...

Mickey Padge Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I get the feeling that if RL was to post a photo of the corrected bezel screws, a few members here would pass out, or worse! Be careful people, turn off your monitors
bertieng Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 How the feel of the bracelet? Is it as silky smooth as the MBW. We all know the bracelet plays a big part on the APROO. Thanks.
triosLescano Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Good But I expect the MBW MBK whit secs running at 6, but .......I dont know if MBK sells in future this.
