OK. Shoot me down in flames but I have searched until I am sick of searching and am still confused. As some of you already know I am a big fan of Vintage Rolex's and have highly modded (by me) 1680, 1665 and a DW 6263 along with a LV and a 5517, oh and a Navitmer from Josh. I really like accuracy. Anyhow I have just come back from Hols (or vacation) and having seen a real PAM I am looking to buy one (can't afford a real one so a rep will have to do). So which models are the most accurate. BTW I don't want a chrono and I have only got small wrists. I would prefer vintage but don't mind either way. Also what mods would need to be done if any.

Most are very good, none is perfect, any clear back is easy to tell, all have wrong too short pin. My advice go for the simpler models such as base, 111 or 112, and have a pin changed with the correct one. Straps need to be purchased separately, rep straps suck big time. Radiomirs are very good, very vintage looking. Check Josh's site, he has the good ones.

Thanks for the info. I am aware of the canon pin being too short but I believe they are obtainable and I could do that myself anyhow. I live in the UK so may check out PT as well. I believe Finepics is also into PAM's. Be grateful for his input as well.

I would say a 196 or an 029. Not historic or simple, but very close to the gens. No recessed pin issues. Only issue is the date wheels on both and the mag of the cyclops on the 029. A midwest Panerai rep had no clue my 196 was a rep.

I certainly agree with you on that score. His watches are works of art. But at what cost? I prefer the do it yourself option but starting with a good base, similar to buying MBW's and doing the mods yourself. Are the PAM's moddable? Also don't mind a solid back. Not easy is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bangin:

Sherrington. You're into vintage, so I would recommend Watchmaster's latest vintage pam offering with a genuine Cortebert movement. Ooooh. Aaaaah.
