vric
It's not the AR option that cost $200.. It's the stupid Big Bang "Normal" vs "Lite" which are stupidly overpriced EVERYWHERE (every dealer)
ubiquitous
I'm trying to discern the qualities that actually defines the difference between Normal vs. Lite. Based on the list, the only thing I see that differs is the AR. But, maybe I'm missing something?
stevethebest
Ehi Ubi, when you will discern the difference, please tell us all! HauteHippie
When we customized some HBBs for Sead, those pieces started as HBB Lite models. The addition of AR made them equivalent in all aspects to the non-Lite model as far as I could tell (except that the Chief AR was much better than the rep AR on the non-Lite). dadog13
this post is just an additional prove of all the BS we are hearing from our dealers! it is obvious that the two versions are same except for the AR...
DemonSlayer
I also noticed this on Angus's website, and the only difference that is listed is the AR. Now AR alone is not worth the $200 difference. The lite version and the non-lite version seem to be the same minus the AR.
gilzy
Nope, its not only AR that makes the difference. Its also the small details on the case. If you see and compare the pictures between lite and non lite, there will be differences. I remembered a while back i read the comparison between the lite and non lite at one of the rep forums, there are few differences between two. DemonSlayer
There may be some slight differences in the case details, again you can't tell from the pics on the website because its showing the same watch. In any case I seriously doubt that these case differences are worth the $120.
slay
I doubt there ARE any differences, because I have seen Lite and non-Lite side by side and couldnt name any!
vric
nah there is none.. It's all bullsh*t. Those HBB at for $1000 are a trap. Get a light + ceramic bezel if needed (which is DAMN overpriced too) and AR and you have the same watch for $400 less. I have a Lite Black Magic and really don't see why I would have spend $1100 on the "premium" one while I got it for $

By-Tor
This is just further proof that members should be aware of what they buy. High price doesn't necessarily mean better visual accuracy in reps. Some dealers sell certain models of Submariner and Yacht-Master for $400+, and they're visually inferior to a $95 Noobmariner in every possible way. Crazy, yes... but no one is forced to buy these bad and overpriced reps... and they won't, if they bothered to do even some most basic research here. A fool and his money are easily parted. Nothing new here. PS: This thread is just another example why this forum is important. Good observations!
gilzy
Maybe i take things too much. Sorry. Yeah the non lite version (ultimate) is not worth of the price. It is much better to take the lite version. However i am sure there were differences between two or maybe its just my eyes. Maybe you can take a look from this post at RG. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=20...ght=HBB+ceramic Edited August 26, 2008 by gilzy
gilzy
Edit : Sorry guys, when i look at it again, the OP only said about those two watches (not the ultimate version which cost thousand plus). So yeah, i believe the AR itself is not worth $200 and no differences at all other than AR. Sorry for double post
Chronus
if the lite version comes with the slower beat movement, is it still conducive to an ETA 7750 movement swap?
