jasonz1000 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) This morning my SMP chrono came in ( thnx PT) The factory rept this one again, the bezel is in the right place now..... The datewindow is to close to the chronometer, that's a shame, the writing doesn't have the red colors, but pearl looks nice, and i think they have changed the case as well, the crown screws in really deep..... What do you guys think,is it improved or not ? i'm not sure And !!!!!!!! thumbs up and many thanks to by-tor for his review of the chrono, without him, i wouldn't have known what i know now...... So, many many thanks.. Edited September 3, 2008 by jasonz1000

capice Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 actually, I think it looks very good at first view....pretty accurate my friend, text is ok and the position also compared to a gen on chrono24.com....
b16a2 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Very nice indeed. Pop a Swiss 7750 Datwheel in there and you're good to go.
jasonz1000 Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 I'm really happy with it guys, but it's more curiousity, if the factory has changed it as they said they would...bezel,case.. Whristy... one of the wave's , really sharp....

tazzman Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 really need som AR..then it will be great!
Toadtorrent Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 really need som AR..then it will be great! AR on this model is actually incorrect. Later models of the SMP Chrono have AR...so in this case, we are lucky to not have it. I have one with the ETA datewheel installed. I'll try and shoot some comparison shots one of these days.
jasonz1000 Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) trying to upload some more pics.......... Edited September 3, 2008 by jasonz1000
b16a2 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 really need som AR..then it will be great! If the single AR coatings are still avaialabe then that is all this needs, double AR (although it would look great) would make it inaccurate. The gen only comes with an internal coating, with no tint whatsoever.
jasonz1000 Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 and more..., so? did they change the bezel and case ( made it wider, so it seems the crown turns more inside)?

tazzman Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Would any of you buy one of these? thats nice AR or perfect angle-shot I am still waiting for the red-text new version to come out..should be here in a short while a bird told me ..
Francisco Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 I cannot see any difference with mine (pearl). About the crown, yes, it screwed more than mine. I am going to correct that. Probably it is due to a too long stem Anyway, I am going to fit a gen tube and crown. Francisco.

jasonz1000 Posted September 4, 2008 Author Report Posted September 4, 2008 Hi Jason, which dealer did you buy it from? Looks awesome!!! I got it from Precious Times based in the UK, he was the first one to get it. Great dealer do deal with !!!!
veja74 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 OK, that looks very nice, especially the pearl position! One thing to consider about inaccuracies is that there have been so many different versions of the over the years that inaccuracies can be hard to notice. I ended up buying three gen dials before getting the one I really wanted. First dial had the red indices on the outer ring but the subdial rings were a copper color instead of silver. Second dial had the silver subdial rings but white indices on the outer ring. Lucky lucky me, my last dial was the newest one with the gold Omega logo and silver rings around the hour markers!!! Anyway, yours looks good, you should be very happy with it.
