And now I am a bit affraid of it. How do you order the watches home to Switzerland? Is there a big problem for delivery? Which company is the best that my darlings are arriving save, UPS? I'm sure that you can source some of the grade AAA+++ swiss made 99.99% reps from some of the sites we don't mention here. They make them there, right? No need to import them. Although they do cost a bit more, because we all know that if you're spending less than about 800usd you're getting cheap Asian rubbish. And if you can't get the super primo elite reps right there in Switzerland, you may have to consider the venerated Italian made reps. General question: When UPS take a package in the States, does it goes only thrue UPS-hands, or they have to show it also to the custom? Or EMS, or DHL,... I would spend all my money for watches, really, but since I lost my 300 $ watch because they said it was a replica and bulldozed it, Im not ordering anymore. I mean its nice to get from the custom a 10 page long letter with pictures of my watch and a science certificate that is 100% fake, but too expensive for me. Guest TTK Posted July 12, 2006 Report Share Posted July 12, 2006 If you really want a high quality watch sent to you.....why not have it sent as parts.....separate the movement from the case..dial from the movement......bracelet from the case.....declare the case as a 're-polish'....the movement as 'repair /replacement'....bracelet as 'after market accessory'.....might be cheaper than paying a fine or watching your rep being bulldozed....! steely Posted July 13, 2006 Report Share Posted July 13, 2006 Trusty, Paul, Josh and Sean always come through. I don't know how they do it but it works. If it would get seized they resend it. I got several watches seized from other dealers. If you get a letter from customs deny that you ever have ordered anything. They have to proof you that you did. It included detailed pictures of my former watch (befor it was flat), picture of the inside of the watch and all the marks which should be, or not!, there. And they said, that is looking like a real one, but the quality is far away of the original and is a 100% copy of it. I dont have it anymore, I sendet it back with the degree that they can destroy the watch, otherwise I have to prove that is real. Maybe I have a copy of it somewhere at home, have to look but I dont think so. As we are not part of EU you will always have problems with customs. It does not matter from which seller you buy. The problem is not in the exporting country but here at Swiss customs. If you have a problem once only you get a letter from customs that they are going to destroy your watch and you have to give your approval with a signature. Do that, its no problem. Please be aware that you are in their books from now on. If you import several watches and are cought many times they quote you as a dealer and you might have problems with the watch indurstry here. Please remember that we are in the country of all the originals and its a good right to protect the local industry. If you want to have further anwsers contact me directly. Or maybe is because reps come in a bag of plastic, instead of a wood case. What kind of problems would somebody have with the watch industry? are you talking about suing you? Believe me. I know the local and international market the market of the originals and of the replicas. As we all know there are watches made 100% in Switzerland. Watches like Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and even Rolex who certify every single as made in Switzerland. Not only this. The watch industry is that important here that we have several special intrest magazines about the topic here. I little bit like with the Swiss Banks. I am not talking about the cheaper ETA movement from Swatch company. Mr. Hayek produces some of the cheaper movements abroad but we are talking about the high end market here. Bud anyway .... I do not think that this is the topic here.....Our colleague wants to know how customs treat you if one of your watches is cought at customs and i told him to take care if he is cought for the first time as he will be registered. PT is quite good and fast...Homer is active at http://www.mulberryoutlet.co.uk/ but I don't know anything about the quality of his watches and since he is not one of 'our' dealers, never ordered from him. Have to confess that I've been tempted...the site and the pieces look beautiful... and the music (Pachelbel's Canon) is quite soothing...though listening to my own music is as soothing and much cheaper so far...
