Tribal
Now here are some better Pics of my new Submariner Base Case is the V4 Euromariner Case with no Lugholes I installed a Eta 2836-2 Movement on this, the Dial is a Noobmariner Dial Datewheel is a gen 3135 Insert is also Gen Glass is a genereic from the Bay The Cg's are reshaped in length and to gen dimensions Noob Bracelet Will replace the Tube and Crown to Gen in the future but must source the Parts.. I can't tell any differences about the Rehaut and Crystal anymore Also the Crown placement is not bad for an Eta based Case Biggest Improvement for me is the nice Date and the right magnification on this one Here now some better Pics
alligoat
You know Tribal, I just don't think it gets any better than this. A 'perfect' sub for 1/10th the cost of a gen! If it passes the WR test, what more could you ask for? You can beat this watch to death, and it still only costs $500-700. Who cares, sure beats the heck out of wasting a gen! I love it. pfran42
So with all the talk of the crystal shape and retaining ring being broken on purpose, what does the average forum member need to do to the Euromariner V4? If I buy the gen 2836 version, do I only run into modding problems if I decide that I want a gen bezel? I am about 5 minutes away from pulling the trigger (as I met a forum member out on the town last weekend and he had the Euromariner) on this watch but I don't want crystal issues that I have seen reported. sconehead
As pfran said, has Chris sorted the retaining ring/crystal problem out on this version?
EuroTimez
The gasket ring is not broken, it is a different design, it has 2 gaskets, (so not 1 piece that is broken in two.... it i just two) where the gen has only one piece gasket... It is hard to explain but it is slightly different design.... the way they put together... anyways I will improve it by putting in a generic crystal (without etched crown at 6 oclock ----which will make it closer to gen----) with ONE gasket like gen (instead of 2 gaskets) and the exact same date-mag 2.5x as genuine and as my current date-mag 2.5x.... So a new mod is on its way... I have ordered it already one sample crystal and gasket if this works out fine and easy.... all new euromariners will have a new aftermarket crystal at no additional cost to the client.... so You want the best.... We will get you the best! Thanks to Tribal for helping and educating me on the improvements that needed to be made! Thanks Dirk (tribal) it is thanks to him that I got the nice design you guys are seeing. It is like a communual project And more exclusive projects are on its way!!! Star69
nice work ! thanks Chris for improving the watch ! i hope the problems will be fixed - esp. the 2 gaskets make no sense. i just got now slowly the gen parts for my "PT Supreme" or whatever Sub - its the same like WM9. i just installed a gen bezel and a gen insert and it snaps right in without any problems. this was not the case with my Euromariner - so i suspect they are not the same watch - i hope the problems will be fixed in Euro V5 when i have time a will post some pics of the PT Sub vs my Gen in modded state - but i have to say so far the PT Sub is the better Rep than the (also good) Euromariner. cheers, Frank
sconehead
Can't say fairer than that. Keep us posted Chris...
Tribal
so I talked to Chris about the Crystal problem. I thought by my first review the Crystal gasket where broken. Now we know it was not. Chris told me he has also PT's Sub and he tried two mix the Parts from both watches. The result was that the Crystal include gasket from Pt fits the Euro. The same works with the retaining Ring from PT and also the one from the Euro on PT's Sub. So I think the Case design is the same only the Crystal and gaskets are different. I had also no problems to install a gen Insert it snaps in easily. Maybe there are small differences from Case to Case from factory? Who knows. As I modded WGenzos WM9 he send me also an after market Crystalgasket and it don't fit the Case so I decided to take the rep gasket for the gen Crystal. also a gen Bezel won't fit without a little work on the WM9 so there are also some small issues. pfran42
By "PT Supreme", do you mean Pure Time? I can't find it there...

ubiquitous
also a gen Bezel won't fit without a little work on the WM9 so there are also some small issues. My bezel assembly fit without any problems... I think it may vary from piece to piece however...
By-Tor
So I think the Case design is the same only the Crystal and gaskets are different. Remember what I said about the crystal and rehaut thickness? I was 100% certain that only the WM9 had the correct rehaut thickness and correct look (i.e that bevel right below the crystal). But now, after the crystal exchange you seem to have that too. The case probably IS the same, which you stated in your initial Euromariner review. The crystal/bevel (and lack of correct "front thickness") is the only remaining "weak link" on the Euromariner (before the crystal/gasket exchange). Your Sub looks awesome! highoeyazmuhudee
Tribal is your ebay glass a clarks? im hearing that ofreis has the bevel and clarks does not. also how well did your insert recess? its hard to tell in the pics thanks. Star69
well i bought and paid the Euromariner and the PT Sub - i think the only thing they share is the CAD-file of the middle case the engravings on the case are different, the caseback is different, the movement is different, the dial is different, the bezel assembly is different, the bezel insert is different, the bracelet is different ... did i miss something ? kind of reminds me of this clone MBWs that where selling some time ago. anyway - as i also got also a few PMs from other members : there is a urgent need for a V5 with better bezel assembly. yes - the gen bezel ring snaps in the PT Sub without problems - than the insert snaps in and stays there - this is not the case with the actual Euromariner and should be fixed pronto cheers, Frank
highoeyazmuhudee
is the caseback on the PT better?
sconehead
I've got a TWB and the caseback is identical to Cricks gen...
Guest Vddubgrub
Tribal, in your opinion does the bezel insert sit as recessed as the gen bezel assembly would allow? Your photos do show a difference when compared to Ubi's photos (which I believe is a complete gen bezel assembly.) I've been waiting for about a year hoping this small difference is addressed or hoping I find one on the bay, but not for the price it went for! Getting tired of waiting.
