Speedmaster with Lemania copy

Recommended Posts

I have received a new Speedmaster rep. with an omega lemania copy only a couple of days ago. The watch is great. Would you recommend me to clean and oil the machine before using it intensively? Currently the watchs runs in perfect order but a watchmaker has told me that generally the replica watches are badly assembled and dirty.

Thank you for the answers.

Guys, advising the OP to have this watch serviced is ridiculous. The ST19 comes properly oiled (according to The Zigmeister) and should not require service for five years. Enjoy your watch mate.

Such a nice movement. I no longer have an ST19 watch. I think I'd best get one.

the blue screws are cool if one understands why they're that color...although i doubt these are REALLY processed that way. other than that i guess it's a matter of taste...

"barkhorn" still never mentioned who he received this from

That's a beaut! Now..what's an ST 19?

That's what that movement actually is. From the Seagull factory in China and often referred to here mistakenly as a Venus.

Thanks. Now..where'd you get it from, and is it the 42mm?

I have had several reps with the Seagull ST19 movement & it is totally bulletproof. Actually, Adrenalin has one of those watches now. ;)

Also, it is very often incorrectly refered to as a a Lemania copy. It does share some characteristics of certain handwound Lemania movements such as many of those used by Vacheron and others over the years, but the ST19 is really just like the venerable Venus 175 movement which is a classic handwound column wheel chronograph used by many brands to great success. And the replication by Seagull is pretty much spot on visually as you can see...
