Thanks Toadtorrent, and thank you coolfire. To be honest, I've got so many projects going on right now I just may sell it if someone made me a good offer. The dial really came out great, and is one of the most accurate chocolate "meters first" red dials I have yet to see.

Thank you, sir! The Omega was $600 well spent a few years back I've not found an example like it since for anywhere near that price! This will be a good one to hand down to my son...

I'm not so sure that I've seen one like that in real life. It is truly beautiful.

As to my kids...I don't think they are getting anything but a collection of reps with sapphire crystals, and few old things with nothing but plastic.

People may argue that one should only pass down something of intrinsic value to your children, but in my opinion, if it meant something to you, it's likely that it may mean something to your kids as well.

While dollar value is nice, sentimental value is priceless. That's why I built the Daytona pair for my kids It may mean more to my kids that my hands put the parts together specifically for them instead of some guy in Switzerland

Here is my first "serious" attempt on vintagization. The base is a Silix-sub with no new parts.

Bleached the bezel insert ( it took half an hour), worked the case, caseback and band.

Think I went a bit over the top with the brown lume... and, I did not manage to fit the seconds hand back on. The watch runs very erratically now.

Well, a cheap and nice way to learn. I like the way I got the pearl and hands.
