wheaton26
hello rwg, this past weekend i attended the annual michael jordan celebrity invitational golf tournament. it is always a star studded cast and this year was no exception. we had some friends in town so i took them and my son over to the one and only ocean club on paradise island. my very pregnant wife was more than happy to stay home with a quiet house. to our surprise bill clinton was in attendance. he was guided by about ten secret service agents but was very gracious and signed autographs and posed for a few pictures. i was able to snap a picture of his watch (see below) but it is too classy for my vocabulary ... possibly a. lange & sohne? one of the tee boxes ... my three year old son enjoying the beautiful course .. michael jordan (basketball), toni kukoc (basketball) and bill clinton (president) ... bill clinton coming off the 11th with james caan (actor) ... posing for a picture ... zoomed in ... that evening was our friends last night in town, so like any good host i took them out! we decided to go to atlantis as they have the nicest venues on the island, not to mention gambling etc. many of the celebrities were there but the casino came to a halt when former president clinton walked in. i was very surprised to see a man of his stature walking through our local casino. he instantly gathered a crown and trust me when i say, the secret service were on point. i said to myself screw it ... i'm gonna see if i can go meet him. i obviously wasn't the only one thinking this and the next thing i knew i was in a mob of people. i kept getting nudged by a guy to the left of me. i finally turned around to see where the fire was, and it was boris becker (tennis)! i laughed to myself as he was more excited to meet clinton than i was. anyway, it worked out great as clinton noticed becker and came over to speak to him. he shook my hand first and we exchanged pleasantries. then he took a minute or two to talk to becker. needless to say it was exciting to shake his hand (enter jokes here). the next day my wife wanted to check out the action, so we dropped our friends to the airport and headed to the tournament to catch the final round. today bill (notice how i'm calling him bill now) was wearing a different watch ... could it be the 089 that we have seen before ... yes it was! i was only able to snap a couple of pictures and unfortunately i didn't get a good shot. i have zoomed in on these but it's very hard to tell. michael jordan, ahmad rashad (football), samuel l. jackson (actor), bill clinton and james caan ... zoomed in ... passing by in his golf cart ... zoomed in ... one panerai that was captured was when my wife was taking a picture of friends. i was lurking in the background. panerai 091. oh, and cartier pasha on the right ... the next highlight was meeting samuel l. jackson. he was very nice and took a picture with my wife and a couple of her friends. i got a great shot of his franck muller crazy hours as he was signing an autograph. before leaving for the airport ... zoomed in ... fyi, the tournament was won by julius "dr. j" irving (basketball) ... and john smoltz (baseball) ... thanks for looking and all the best! Watchmeister
Great pics. I was down there 3-4 years ago for the same event. And yeah, the watch quotient just adds to the ambience. And you get to live down there. Almost broke my back on that water slide down the street at the Atlantis though.

nikki6
Sounds like you and the family and friends had an awesome weekend bud!! You tend to find 'celebs' are way more relaxed at these kind of things. I can't see the pics but they have been described to me and it sounds like you got some amazing shots!! I met MJ once, at the first MotoGP race to be run at Laguna Seca for years. He owns a Superbike team that races in the AMA championship, they were the support races for the MotoGP. I knew one of his riders and managed to get into the garage and was going over the bike when the man himself appeared! Now I'm 6ft4" but meeting this guy is unreal, I rarely have to look up to a person to speak to them but my neck was sore that afternoon!! And poor rider, Steve Rapp, is only about 5ft4"!! I think he stood on a tool box at one point! lol. But Jordan was so polite and easy going, he knows a huge amount about bikes and racing. It was a day I'll remember, I just so wish I was wearing my Bulls jersey!!! Thanks for sharing your weekend with us bud, it sounds like one you won't forget in a long time either!!
