BigCrown Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Yeah, yeah, but nice DeLorian strap... Oooh..it is pretty new....2007 (I series) SHARP Case angles...not easy to replicate!!!! Here we go...a REAL heavy caseback...very thick SWISS MADE?!? I thought these were Italian watches?? ****IMPORTANT: NO REP HAS CRYSTAL THIS THICK (IMHO****) Here's the shocker: the DSN Pre-V casebacks fit nice and tight!!! Super Luminov from DSN is also very, very avccurate...maybe even TOO BRIGHT! Is this possible? Delicious movement for one that never sees the light of day! On last look FIN!
BigCrown Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 Yep...got it today. Pretty happy with it.
denisegold Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Great watch! My husband has a genuine 000 also, sometimes I even get to wear it!! Enjoy!
StormTooper4 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Love that movement. I have a similar case back on my 207/a, good to see the DSN fits Wear it well ST4
peepshow Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Hmmm, I thought the Logo models were supposed to use the OPI movements with CdG decoration and no swan's neck????? This watch has an E-G series OPX movement. Strange.....
fishgodeep Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Hmmm, I thought the Logo models were supposed to use the OPI movements with CdG decoration and no swan's neck????? This watch has an E-G series OPX movement. Strange..... Ditto ... the Panerai engraved swan neck movement is the higher spec and premium finished movement for display back models. A stroke of luck I'd suggest and possibly a rare piece ?? FGD
peepshow Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Certainly a rare piece if it came that way from Panerai. However, the discrepancy between the watch series (I) and the movement series (G at the newest) has me scratching my head. BigCrown you're not the original owner, are you?
V Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Very strange watch indeed with that movement... If you hae the papers you should check the serials..
peyups Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Hmmm.. what should the movement look like? The one on the lowest left: ?
peepshow Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Yes, only with the diagonal Cotes de Geneve decoration instead of the "grafitti" decoration.
coolfire Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Very interesting information... Regardless, beautiful watch!
Watchmeister Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Quite the franken! Congratulations. And on the DSN case backs I have never ound one that didn't fit Pre-V or later.
Fidestro Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 If I were you I would acquire a DSN display caseback to wear with that. Yes you would have rep parts on a gen, but that movement is too beautiful to hide, almost a sin.
yellomen Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 If I were you I would acquire a DSN display caseback to wear with that. Yes you would have rep parts on a gen, but that movement is too beautiful to hide, almost a sin. +1
bruce79 Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 It's funny that you say that about the lume...I just picked up a gen 111 this week and the lume is superb...but not quite as bright as my modded rep pams...funny. I luv the base models though...and the logos!
BigCrown Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 Yeah, I am a real fan of the logo models... I was shocked that a PAM 005 went for less than $3200 on eBay the other night. This downed economy is awesome for watch collecting. Can';t wait to see that 1950 cased chrono I bought from you last week. Best regards, B
sattop Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Interesting movement on that logo. Great find! The only movement i've seen on a logo is the last pic on the bottom.
l3x Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Congrats on a beautiful watch. I don't know many ppl that would open up a gen like that...kudos to you...thnx for sharing the internals.
peyups Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Whatever movement it should look like its still is a beautiful movement in there.
bruce79 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I don't know that BC's 000 is a franken. I saw another logo on a gen forum that had the E series movement.
