jjfesq Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 I sent my MBW 1680 to Ziggy. He installed a gen face, gen crystal, matched the hands to the face, drilled for gen springbars and serviced the movement. The watch already had a reworked bezel and pearl, gen crown and tube along with shaped cg's. I think the result is outstanding. Here is a public thank you very much to our resident master Ziggy. JJ My Daddy loves his 1680Z!!!!
cyberfox67 Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 it looks very nice. enjoy it and wear it well !!!
freddy333 Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Very cute future WIS & Ziggy did a great job (love that dial), but I would double-check your crown.........it does not look gen to me.
JoJo35 Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Looks great! Congrats to the owner and the builder; wear it well and enjoy
Stephane Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 JJ, congrats but now I'm seriously jalous! Wow, that gen face
P4GTR Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Fantastic piece. Wear it well Does the pearl seem a little off center, or is it the pics?
jjfesq Posted March 28, 2009 Author Report Posted March 28, 2009 Thanks freddy, I'll ask the prev owner about the crown.
Cats Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Great looking watch you got here. Stunning dial As Freddy already said the crown looks also a bit strange to me. Concerning the pearl i think that a Ofrei pearl or a gen insert with gen pearl will be a big improvement. Carpe Diem Cats
vlydog Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Beautiful piece JJ. Ziggy's skillfull hands always please. Where it in good health. B
alligoat Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Beautiful watch! This is what it's all about- builiding a great rep/franken. And Ziggy does a fantastic job- especially for a guy who's not a Rolex fan. This is the kind of watch you can wear anywhere w/o nary a worry. I do agree about the crown- if you look at the side view, you will notice the emblem and dots are flat. On a gen crown, the crown emblem and dots would have more definition.
lazarini Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Looking great, my favorite vintage Rolex! Regards Laz
elepaolo Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 No way, no way, no way in this world you'll ever be called out! Congrats, mate! BTW, I can't see any problem with that crown.
sea-dweller Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Looks Great. I am also in the Vintage, wish i get sometimes the same
