My First Rep - Photos

A little Photoshop knowledge is a dangerous thing.

I found this glorious site 2 weeks ago and I am already in possession of two mechanical wonders from our good friend Josh. They got here with no trouble in just under a week. The first is a Breitling SFSO, with the white face. I'd seen Pugwash's pics and was instantly reduced to that most contemptuous of creatures: the lovesick swain. I just had to have it. I was able, the next day, to add an Omega Railmaster to the order before it went out, saving some shipping dollars, but it had already gone out when I put in a third order for the Tag F1, which has not yet arrived. I will post pics of the Railmaster presently, but let me just say in the meantime, it is... sublime. Something I did not know about myself before I found this place: I am an Omega man.

Here's a face shot of the SFSO:

A close-up of the face:

The numbers are dark in this shot, but that's a reflection. They are silver.

Here's the back:

You might notice some odd lines in this pic, in some places looking like dust strands. These are reflections of the bent up coat hangar that I fashioned into a rack to hang the watch on so as to get this shot. And if you look to the left of the word "CHRON" you'll see the photographer, too clumsy to get out of the way of his own picture.

Here's the bracelet:

And of course, a wrist shot:

For those who want an extreme, and I do mean EXTREME close-up of the watch face, point a browser here:

http://www.mickporter.com/watch.html

On a standard 72 dpi monitor, the watchface is about five feet square, and takes a while to load, even on a fast connection. Talk about warts and all. But at normal distances, it's a beauty, and I am well pleased.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go out and find a second job, so as to be able to afford more of these lovelies. I've already got my eye on a Panerai and an IWC.

Cheers,

Hey bro, nice work and good photography! I think its generally accepted that the SFSO is one of the best out of the box and one of the most accurate reps of them all.

I don't know whether you've done this on purpose as a twist on watch advertisements but you've actually set the time to 10 to 2 rather than 10 to 10 as is standard!

Damn, that's a hell of a first review. Nicely done and great watch. It was either this on or the Skyland for my first Breitling and I went with the Skyland. I'm sure I will be going SFSO soon and you are selling me on the white one.

Great work and wear it well.

My first watch from Josh wouldn't keep time.

Then a part fell off.

Very disappointing but not my first rep.

After a couple of emails, I sent it back.

Got back a repaired watch which I am still happily wearing from time to time two years later.

I've bought more from Josh and will again.

The lesson for you noobs is to have a bit of patience and work with your dealer.

You are not working with an AD and don't have the leverage of several thousand dollars/euros.

Just do the reading and searching here and you will know what to expect. And you will get what you expect.

Welcome...my eyes are still dilated from reviewing that macro shot...

i think Pugwash needs to take a bow...it was his white SFSO that launched my first purchase...

advice: be weary, very, very weary...this will lead to mates for your sfso...you can't just own one breitling...highly addictive...and if you stumble upon Lani's skyland pix, you'll spend sleepless nights deciding between gray or black dials...start there first...because you soon will understand that it's the strap that makes the watch complete...and strap "analysis" will leave you exhausted - not to mention, broke!...

Go Orange!...
