jnkay
Aside from the stupidity, the WISses over at TRF ripped the rep apart. Makes for an interesting read. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=79154
Star69
thanks ! was fun to read he should post an Explorer I rep - he would have survived a little longer . cheers, Frank
SMP Chrono
I seriously doubt my SMP Chrono would be ripped apart when it's finished - even if I walked into an AD with it some day to look at some other watch ;-)

slickdick
Funny thing is it takes 20 posts before anyone notices the incorrect hand stack. Nothing strange about that. TeeJay
The one thing I noticed about the thread, compared to similar ones on TZ, was that no one started flaming the OP, like calling him a cheap wannabe scummer for daring to wear a Fake Rolex!!. Okay, there was some 'busting of the chops', but nothing truly mean-spirited or elitist, which I've always found TZ reeks of... An interesting read, if for nothing other than the social commentary As for the OP who tried passing his rep off as a gen: Shame on you, Sir, very bad form
Guest asim
lol that was a great read. im also surprised how long it took for somebody to stand up and start questioning the authenticity.

nikki6
Funny Slick, I was thikning the exact same thing!! They seem very easy amused over there, as for destroying keyboards with those pics? Must be an inside joke or 'Jocke' as the case may be!! Still the dude was a douche for trying it in the first place! Sixx
TeeJay
but i will call him an idiot for posting it on there!!! Oh for sure, it's a stupid thing to do, but it was nice to see such a thread not turn into a "Lets make fun of the OP for being poor and wearing a fake..." flaming, as often happens on TZ Right and wrong is one thing, but one thing which really bugs me in life, is elitists. Rather than just enjoying something, they always miss the point

TeeJay
that's true TeeJay! TZ has always been like that. It's a shame, as one would have thought that a community of supposed 'watch enthusiasts' would simply appreciate a watch for being a nice watch, rather than getting all uppity and elitist about trademark infringement Then again, I guess if someone is trying to pass a rep off as a gen, then they're putting across a false image, so I guess it's only fair that they receive a little lesson in the value of honesty

ThinkBachs
Nothing strange about that. More posts are wasted on brown nosing Jocke then on the subject at hand... You are correct Sir! What a great comment, thoughtful and straight to the point. I enjoy reading your remarks and look forward to gleaning even greater insight on this and many other subjects as I follow your posts. trailboss
Sigh, when will they learn? Pity we can't get the IP's of these fools just in case they lurk on a rep forum. Did anyone notice it took five pages before someone noticed the ICHS? Shows it's not realy much of an issue. If the engraving had been correct, the cyclops AR'd and a gen insert installed I wonder if they could have picked it? That only leavs the minute hand after all. Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 16 (1 members and 15 guests) LOL, the're prob wondering where all the guests are from. Col.

SMP Chrono
I especially like how the poster claimed to have received the watch from an AD! From what I read in the thread, he even went so far to simulate a Gen buying process... like asking for what AD was the best, claiming to have been drooling at the AD's window (ok, I can believe THAT) and so on... trying it on and stuff... probably that's why they didn't want to believe to beaing cheated in the first place

jot9011
...sigh. I wonder what the true intent of the OP's purpose for posting his rep there: 1.) Did he do it because he wanted to feel like he belonged to the Rolex forum? 2.) Was he trying to see how good his rep was by testing the WIS's knowledge or ..3.) Was he planning on trying to sell this watch as a GEN at a later time, and wanted to test the waters, so to speak. BTW...his GMTII-c rep does not look like the one's we have available. I noticed on mine that there is correct spacing between the "GMT -MASTER II" and the "SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER" and the rehaut engraving looks better, albeit it does not line up like it should at the 9.
