  1. Jeez, that thing really made me do a double-take. A couple obvious flaws once you stare at it, but very nice piece (coming from someone who has the gen).
  2. Bezel teeth and hour markers gave away the sub for me
  3. I wound up ponying an additional $150 to get the eta version, the only one in stock in stock. I usually go for the cheapest movement, so this was tough to swallow but I had to have this rep.
  4. Just came across a great quality video of Styx Grand Illusion /pieces of Eight concert, two of my favorite albums and great concert.
  5. Anyone know how to either shorten the stem or make the crown a "push-pull" instead of screw-down? I've read both as solutions but have no idea how this is done. Thanks!
  6. Looks crazy good, gen-like. Enjoy.
  7. Did you receive yet; any more pictures you could share? Curious about the titanium color and dial color in different lighting conditions. Edit: Just saw your post on another thread. Looks good. The double AR makes a big difference in this piece on the gen.
  8. Awesome, nice crisp results. Which subs did you piece together? I read your other post but didn't see.
  9. Wow, what a story. Thanks for sharing the info.
  10. I was distinctly unimpressed with the gen bracelet. Felt much less refined than the new Omega and Rolex bracelets.
  11. One flaw that all versions share to the same degree is the smaller-than-gen hour markers and thicker-than gen lume holders (the ring around the lume dots). I can spot a rep every time because of this.
  12. Completely awesome thread. Finally, someone here has both a gen and rep ceramic sub. I've been wanting this comparison for a long time and you delivered. Thanks!
  13. Those are some of the best pictures I've seen of the new LV. The green dial can take on an exotic look with the right lighting. Nice piece!
  14. Alligoat is correct; these watches are not remotely accurate, or of particulary high quality. There are very impressive 16613 subs out there.
  15. I think it looks very good. On the first picture though, there is something on the left side, endlink. Looks like a black smudge or something.
  16. I use Collinite because it is so easy to use with hand application. I've been meaning to use a sealant like Zano or similar because they last longer in South Florida where the heat melts waxes pretty quickly (although the Collinite does better than any other wax I've used.
  17. I love the sub-c reps, don't get me wrong, but they are based on the GMT-IIc case and hands, which are not correct for the sub. The new sub case has noticeably thicker lugs and is not as tall/thick as the GMT-IIc. The sub-c does not have a maxi hour hand like the GMT-IIc has. Also, the bracelet links are thinner on the sub-c and have brushed sides. Some of these differences are actually nice (i.e. thicker case, thicker bracelet and maxi hour hand), but take away from the accuracy. Personally, I'd love to just have the wider lugs and better hour markers (they are bigger on the gen and have much thinner metal/gold around them). Sure, it may not be totally accurate, but it would incorporate the things that are in my mind better about the gen while keeping the things I think are better about the rep intact. I don't care if I get called out, it would be a sweet rep!
  18. Oh, and of course the double AR on the cyclops, but that has seems to be widely known.
  19. You have a nice specimen that isn't beat by other versions I've seen. Still not accurate vs. gen as compared to the GMT-IIc vs. gen, but very nice nonetheless.
