yellomen
If you hadn't told us it was at an AD we would have assumed it was a rep with bad QC
Toadtorrent
So...once again...those rep factories are in fact making them more accurate than we think. Their first few hundred were installed straight...and not 1:1 as per original...so the latest edition fixed that.
tintin
It might be the minute hand that makes that illusion.
scoobs1971
It might be the minute hand that makes that illusion. Defintely not, since I've been staring at that window for a few mintues earlier and came back for the pic. It really was crooked

The first batch was the most accurate - apart from the 3, 6, 9 and 12 markers being a tad too big. As far as I know the latest version has thinner markers, but incorrectly extra lumed numbers and minute markers. 1 step ahead, 2 steps back . POTR
Not only is the indice at 6 crooked... The minute hand is not in sync with the seconds hand it is about 40 seconds behind AND the hour hand is ahead about a minute (already past half way while still isn't "7:30" yet...) The DAY is high with the I in FRI being crooked, while the DATE is almost centered... BTW was the chrono running, or is IT off by 1.75 seconds as well? And now I think of it I realize the watch wasn't running at all. So I guess the chrono was running its first laps when the movement stopped, since the 30 minutes counter and the 12 counter are still @12.... takashi
that can be... or the chrono is run then pressed to stop again before 1 minute.
scoobs1971
that can be... or the chrono is run then pressed to stop again before 1 minute. Sounds like a more logical explanation. So I guess the watch was running after all. I was really doubting myself, but I hardly ever use my chronos, .
HauteHippie
The minute and second hand are almost always out of sync unless the person setting the time really cares to align them. I personally never do.

Usually the rep factories get most things right the first time 'round...then come up with an Ultimate or improved version right? Given that this example of the gen at the AD is crooked, I was joking that the factories' current 3717-01/03 is in fact ultimate and close to the gen now, given that they've added double AR and the crooked markers on purposes instead of in error (which it obviously is). Are you sure that its really crooked? maybe minute making the illusion I'm absolutely positive. Before I took the pic I've watched it from different angles. They really messed up with this gen.... woody
if we really want to nick-pick, the 12 hour triangular marker is slightly off too. if you look at the sides of the triangle, then compare the distance to the round dot marker to each of its side, you will see the distance between the two, they are not even......now I don't feel as bad, as mine suffered just a bit of this syndrome as well..... Hmmm, I even doubt the 3 and 9 marker are 100%..... Maybe I can convince the AD to sell this watch for E 500,- and I'll put my own rep dial in it . deltatahoe
now if we could only figure out a way to get the brass pins that hold the seconds & other chrono hands to look/turn silver, a nicely modded 3717 would be pretty much identical from the genuine (aside from having correctly aligned markers ).... deltatahoe
yellomen
After havind lots of genuine IWC, Panerai and other watches in my hands yesterday i can only say that we guys are SOOOOO ANAL about details. I saw some gen Panerai luminor marina models with the "L SWISS MADE L" close to the 6 or sometimes a bit further away... all sandwich dial. Also seen another IWC with crooked markers... and Ben tried a Aquatimer chrono in an AD where they put the clasp on... backside to the front so he couldn't close it
chronology1066
SOmething to consider though, what if this was a used model that was taken as a part ex (by some naughty rep buyer) most ADs wouldnt even ask
swdivad
A good friend of mine bought the gen 3717 after he saw my rep... he was so psyched to get it, and loves the watch... He's had it for about 6 months now and treats it with kid gloves... well, maybe not quite, but he doesn't beat on it in any sense... Anyhow, went to visit him for a coffee today and he starts shaking the watch at me... Hey... he says... what do you think the problem is here?... Shaking the watch made the scariest of sounds... I mean really scary (especially for a gen).. Sounds to me like the rotor has fallen off somehow Could be something else though... the watch is running still and keeping time, although the power reserve is down to about 8 hours... so I reckon it's the rotor (coming from an amateur WIS) Just thought I'd share this horror story, as it seems so appropriate
