  1. And true to his word......... This one started life as a >2008 SMP Chrono. It was purchased M2M on one of the forums and quickly crapped out - both crown/tube stripped and the movement lost a few teeth on various wheels. Micky suggested a new A7750 and sourced one at a reasonable price. Then a new crown and tube were installed along with s profsteve double AR crystal - a great addition to almost any watch. Micky painstakingly repainted all the chrono hands in red and stripped the paint off the subdial second hand leaving it chrome. Now all the chrono hands are red and the clock hands chrome. I found out after starting that Omega have built some of their new chrono's the same in homage to this one a reversed date wheel along with the (current) orange PO bezel insert complete the look. Add a few(!!!) hours for Micky to throw it all together and all I can say is I'm very pleased with another outstanding built. If you're thinking about having a one off piece built I can thoroughly recommend Micky to do the work. Cheers again Micky.

  7. I know where you are coming from (I used to have that view as well), but it is truly very limited in scope. That is, you are focusing in on a tree while missing the rest of the much larger forest. While there are certainly rogues in every field - if you do not believe there are criminals & crooks in the green movement, you are willfully blind - the profits that businessmen amass come from the sales of things like iPhones & iTunes & Priuses & sandals & tv sets & all the things you & I want/use every day. Businessmen also provide services like making clean drinking water & building homes & repairing bicycles & fixing teeth that make our lives more comfortable. The most successful of these businessmen then purchase yachts & private jets & mansions, all of which give people like you & me jobs to design, build & maintain those yachts, jets & mansions. Capitalism is based on the simple concept of trade - I have a good or service that is worth more to you than a handful of cash, so you trade the cash for my good or service & vice-versa. If the good or service I am offering is useful to a large number of people & I am skilled enough to market my good or service to make you aware that I exist, then, with a bit of luck, I stand to make alot of cash. You just need to produce a good or service that will have widespread use & find a way to spread the word so your potential buyers know you exist. And there is nothing stopping you from doing the same thing. That is why I believe that people who criticize others' success/wealth are either unaware or fooling themselves.

  9. Absolutely. I left it at the size so anyone who wants can use it. Once I got to my 'best' I simply use photo shop to 'paint' the lower script and insert whichever I wanted to build, 'GMT Master', 'Submariner', etc. The gilt dials work best for me, though I've painted the dial white for other models, and one 'reversed' color for the white dial 6542.

  10. I've touted the water slide decals since 2008, and while it's not easy, it isn't really difficult to do. It's more using computer photo programs to enhance and improve the print. You've done a wonderful job of it. I did the 'exclamation point' dial for my 1960 1675 cornino.

  11. The reason folks are fooled, are many faceted, but the overriding factors are complete lack of knowledge. Most folks have almost no knowledge about watches in general and even less about specific models. The knowledge level here is probably 1000 percent higher than the average watch buyer. The second factor especially on sites like EBay is a combination of greed and what I call "auction frenzy". People are blinded by the prospect of getting something for substantially less than the going price. Couple that with getting into a competitive bidding war possibly with shill bidders that keep raising bids, and the buyer completely loses any semblance of reason and control. Buyers who have little or no knowledge of the item, and are completely blinded by auction frenzy are like sheep being led to slaughter! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  13. No, only the BP is applied and super lumniova. The chrono 3777 and the mark xvii are printed (non-lume). Great parts source: http://www.scotchwatch.com/IWCparts.html for various gen stuff: x-tals, hands, crowns, tubes, etc. outfitting a 3777 with the gen works will run about ~$1200 in parts not including the movement. I may go that route over time. We'll see!

  14. Yes, I can take some new photos and show how the end links are mounted to the case. I'll do that in a bit as I have a new strap on order. When I make the swap I'll photo it in better lighting. Also, if anyone is interested in where I source my straps, I use this fellow: http://stores.ebay.com/vnhandcraftart I have personally purchased 5 straps here for my Panerai, IWC and now Rolex pieces. All gen croc and excellent quality for the $. What you see is what you get. 100%. Shipping takes about 10 business days to the US. He'll also do custom configurations if you can use one of his photos as an example. Stitching color change, etc.

  15. I can afford a gen. But I can't justify myself buying it when there are copies greatly crafted at a fraction of the cost. On top of that, the idea of scratching it or anything worse would affect my quality of life. sent, me thinks
