  4. I logged out and back in directly and through a VPN on three different devices and 3 different browsers. All is well, but with my new login I'm suddenly craving pickled herring. What's up with that?

  5. What is the OD of the 1570? I just "installed" a new Yuki rivet on a recent built and the endlinks were very flimsy and didn't fit for $hit - the clasp was also horrendous... I personally wouldn't want to carve up a gen case...

  8. Post that in both threads Bart, it's worth the coverage. Then see if you can get @hologramet to do a run of gold plated Tempus Machina dials :-)

  10. FYI Guys… the newest TC case isn't compatible with a Gen 3135. He made some mods to the case and one of the cutouts to drop the movement into the case is in the wrong place. One of the movement securing screws sits right on the edge of the slot. It won't allow the movement to be secured. I'm working on a mod to try and remedy it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Whew, good thing you didn't hit the Big Red Button. The last time it took us a week to find Ken's other left nut.

  18. There's a few of these frankens out in the wild. I doubt anyone that owns it would be ready to sell though. It's an absolutely beautiful watch. In order to build one, as @Sogeha said, you need to invest quite a stash of money to get one done. You need to source a gen dial, preferably with gen tachy and hands but that should be pretty hard. Also need to have the complete donor case reworked, milled down, shaved etc. additional to that, you'll have to get a new movement. A LWO 283 (that's an ETA 2892-2 with the Dubois-Depraz module). You'll need a new DateWheel too, unless you can put up with the ETA one which would be incorrect for the model. There'd be plenty more to say but that's just a quick sum up. I hope I haven't destroyed it for you now and you're even more keen on building one after that.

  20. Welcome aboard, it's good to have you here. As for your last question, "normal use" takes on many forms. Some will wear a watch twice/month and keep it meticulously clean; others will wear it while working on the car and rock climbing. Your mileage may vary. I built a few really nice reps over the last 10 years and each one works perfectly every time, and I'm far from gentle with them. But I don't abuse them either. I bet if you get a nice quality piece and keep the movement on a maintenance schedule (5 years-ish) it will outlast your affection for it. Also: I'm sorry to say it but the search function here stinks. Google is much easier. Good luck!
