  1. Works in IT doesn't he? Coffee and biscuits aren't going to scratch stainless. "Have you tried turning it off and back on again?"

  3. Hey all... I was one lucky sunava to pick up this great piece in the last raffle... Until recently I've been strictly 40mm and less... Sub kind of guy. Now i suddenly have three PAMs. The quality of this rep is pretty darned good. I suspect the lume is slightly off compared to gen but let's face it you are unlikely to bump into a gen I'm your travels... So i put it right up there in the category of "Fantasy Purchase Rep" Engraving is really cool[emoji41] Thanks @MOAB for enabling the raffle [emoji106]

  4. Here also is an example of Natas bringing a watch "back to life." His work is amazing. A gentleman and expert in his field. I can't recommend him highly enough. And it's worth sending to him even though he's far from me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Finally got photobucket to work- I don't think it likes Internet Explorer, sometimes I end up using google chrome. This watch is a compilation of parts. Gen dial and white day and date wheels from MMM, swiss 2836-2 which obviously functions as a 2834-2 from an old 118238 rep which I got from Paul back in the 2006-7 range, case is from MMM and is a DJ 116200 gold plated case and a gold YM bracelet from an old cheapie Silix 16628 YM. The DJ case is slightly larger in the lugs than the real 118208 cases. This is the gen 118208 for comparison slimmer lugs as you can see

  11. I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.

  12. BTW ... Despite what I have read and writen I'll probably explore the dremel route. Yesterday we met for a "watches fab lab" and I tried drilling non-drilled lugs with a drillpress. Considering the speed we used and the time it took (about 1mn/lug) I really think it could be done with a dremel and it would not "kill" the tool if done properly and with care and "from time to time" (I would not try to drill 2 watches a week with a dremel). I'll let you know if it worked well or not, or if I killed the dremel. Envoyé de mon XT1068 en utilisant Tapatalk

  14. It's not going to be easy finding a bracelet, especially a WG one- really not worth it IMO. Changing out the crown would be easier, but this is a new model and I'm not even sure which crown it takes. And again, not really worth finding a WG crown. An ss crown might be the 24-603-0 possibly and what if you had to change out the tube with it? That could be another can of worms. Enjoy your new watch and keep reading! If you were to try to mod a vintage rep, it would be easier to find parts for it.

  15. Ah thanks dude... good to know it's not worth exploring the dremmel route. I know a guy who drills Seiko in UK and i have never asked if he could do others... I'm guessing he could probably do so? May drop him a line.

  18. Picked up this watch from a private seller recently. Thought I paid a fair price. Decent condition but the crystal may need a buffing. You can see how fat the case is also. Quite happy with it! Here's a bit of history on the watch. https://heuerville.wordpress.com/2012/06/17/tag-heuer-spirotechnique-180-023/
