My opinion, nowadays, is that I wouldn’t buy a 5 digit sub without a SH3135 movement in it, something which TC’s do not have. You can pick up a JF for $400, throw in a gen insert and date wheel for an extra $250 and you have an excellent sub for $650. In my opinion, better than a TC. Just my humble opinion though, others will disagree I’m sure.1 point

Accuracy of movement is about +7sec/day, but i will bring it to our local watchmaker to adjust / reoil it and test for waterresistance, because I want to use this watches for snorkeling. Whole experience with Puretime is simply awesome. I use UK reshipment to central europe, and it takes only 7 working days to arrive to my house. Puretime agent send me QC pictures which you can saw here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/T31Xwr15x9okHY4M2 Here are some pictures of arrived package: https://photos.app.goo.gl/hOMuTenV3Tz4yPhV2 And here are watches on my hand: https://photos.app.goo.gl/xylOCtGyPtEXmGtF3 This is a superrep watch and it is noticable on whole material processing quality. I must say that guys in ARF factory makes very good work! There are some shortcomings, but it is not essential. Here they are: - no AR coating on the sapphire glass, nor on the inner side - first letter on sign "SWISS MADE" isn't aligned correctly - no waterresistance to at least 100-200M from factory but I will test it soon and let you know So buying of this rep is highly recommended especially from Puretime. I'm afraid this is not a good recipe to me. The lume has to age and look matte, but the Comex example lume looks baked, shiny, and crispy, it doesn't look anything natural like the Omega example I pointed out above. It's very obvious that the dial and hands was deliberately tempered. :X much like this similar example as discussed in Rolex Forum.1 point

I did it once with a cheap dial first to give it a try. Get a tip to use some coffee and bring it on with a small brush. I did dial and hands. Put it in the oven 200 celsius and keep a good eye on it. It depends on what you are using to get the aged effect i think. I had it in the oven for about 15 minutes for the dial and a few minutes less for the hands. Found a few pics of the result.1 point

Hi Pete, Funny running into you here. I was just reading your post over in the Rolex Forums about your watch yesterday and thought that the smooth bezel looked great on it. You are incredibly fortunate to own an original 6542 Most of us here can only dream!! We do however enjoy building our own watches from both gen and aftermarket parts. We do it out of the love for the various makes and models and our interests in horology. We are a very friendly and helpful community The scene here is not as shifty and shady as some tend to think I have a bezel assembly from NDT Trading. on my 6542 Its a pretty accurate example as the numerals are narrower and the lume actually glows http://ndtradingcorp.com/view-290-one-ser-bezel-insert-rolex-gmt Here is a photo of my piece for reference1 point

Workbench has been well populated lately. The 7016 only needs a tube to be completed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
