  1. I believe Miss Understood moved to Only Fans (succulentsalmon?) where she's a millionaire.... More seriously, forums and the open web have so much competition from aggregators and apps (reddit and so on), and dealers are all over social media and SEO - fewer people start out on any forum to begin with. Which is a shame, because they miss out on there being nicer corners of the internet I'm gearing up for my first rep buy in years, so dusting down the saddle, and by "saddle" I mean look forward for my inevitable post bitching that all of the TD contact details on the forum are years out of date.

  2. This made me think about when I joined and realized it was over 10 years ago! Still kicking but trying to wind down and I've been hiding out in the SE Oklahoma mountains waging war on the 'coons and armadillos since the virus snuck in...

  3. Soviet dive watches (and cameras..) are a very interesting topic! Considering the hike in rep prices, they are bargains. (And there is also Indian hmt watches, if you will go even cheaper) 8-) Anyway, one old thread got to my mind the other day. Nanuqs post about how much abuse a replica watch could take.. A poor Sub got trashed by his SUV, burnt and drowned... It must be close to 15 years ago, but those pictures still haunts me. 😄

  4. Cornerstone is getting ready to buy a rep? Oh this will be good. 🍿 This summer I went a little nuts buying and building dive watches, only one rep among them. Did you know you can make a Seiko SRP Turtle into a Doxa lookalike? That led to a very tasty Blancpain FF, then a Zodiac Super Sea Wolf, then a Maranez microbrand. Someone stop me!!

  5. Ronin, you and Jigelo are exactly right. The place is aging and there's not much influx of new kids to keep the place hopping. When Whatsapp came out we lost more than a dozen of our core members, someone formed a group over there and called it RWG Elite or Alumni or something, and they left. The interface is easier to maneuver and it works a lot better than Tapatalk, so that kinda sunk us. It's sure great to see you and jigelow again! Stick around, hear?

  6. I’m not an old timer, but it’s been a while since I visited. It’s sad to see somewhere like this that has meant so much to so many slowly age. This was my go to forum and the one that had the people I trusted most.

  7. Thanks for that Mike, watched the whole video. The man comes from the northwest of England so he's definitely worth listening to 😉

  8. Now that's pretty nice.... at least you can tell the time clearly, which is kinda the point of wearing a watch in the first place! Take a look at this overpriced POS and tell me at a quick glance - what time is it? Apologies for the quality (or lack thereof) of the photo, but you get my drift 🙂

  9. Navitimer.. Disgusting 💩almost as bad as a Richard Mille.....Ugh - don't get me started (IMHO of course and as we know, opinions are like [censored] holes, everybody's got one and it's usually full of pooh 😂) I remember looking at an early iPad in an airport shop with a tecchy mate of mine. He was all excited and I took one look at it and thought it would flop too. Hey ho there you go.

  10. Been a long time since I posted. I remember when I joined the old RWG back in 2004, one of the first post I read was some oldtimers who talkes about how everything was better in the good old days. This was a nice place on the net for many years. I truly enjoyed doing reviews and guides, and receiving nice Feedback. I migrated more or less over to Repgeek, which are more up to date with discussions on new reps. Not very active there either. Life moved on, and I felt I was happy with the watches I had. Anyway, I have setteled down with wife and one kid, 7 years old. When he was born I bought a 16750, 1984 model. Just before the prices went sky high. I also have a vintage 1975 Air-King, which is a birth year watch. That is all my expensive gens. I am not all done with reps, but buy less than one a year. Last rep is IWC mark xvi, tribute to mark xi. Nice watch. I was tempted by the Oris vintage diver, but it is too similar to other watches I have. Still have my iwc ingenieur, with Lello date wheel overlay. Anyone remembering those? 🙂 That is one rep I will never sell. A Seamaster Bond from the «closed factory» is also a keeper. Also have some watches which have received the treatment from The Zigmeisterzumba! Still wishing for a true Speedmaster and a good Navitimer replica. 🙂

  11. LOL, I lost a $20 bet to Pugwash when the first iPad came out. I bet it would flop, boy was I wrong... I met up with Ubiquitous a few months ago. Rocking some amazing Frankens! What happened to Freddy333? I haven't seen anything from him since I have resurfaced. What about By-Tor?
