(J551) Option 1 "Maybe i Keep the TC movement and try to repair it." (SS) Option 2 "I have Swiss ETA movements in stock." No one asked me but I vote for option 2. From my past experience, many/most china etaclones are prone to be Junk in the long run. A few of the china etaclone parts are Ok though...ETA 2836 non adjustable 24H conversions for example. Some of the autowind assemblies can be Ok if cleaned and oiled before use. China 3135 rlxclones...I never had one but a few issues come to mind from what I have read: None will interchange with ETA 28xx swiss or etaclone. Different dial foot location, different hands etc. There are a few different designs of the 3135 rlxclone. Some Ok, some not so good. Movements may arrive dirty and dry or dirty and over oiled. Need to be $erviced. No parts = A Big Problem. Some genuine parts may fit but they cost a lot of $$. Auto wind assembly problems. Calendar problems. Etc. The Plus...they 'appear to be' genuine. The Minus...rlx watches have solid case backs.

I know not everyone likes being talked out of their goal, but I too went down this rabbit hole of once wanting to build a super Franken 6538, and I gave up before even starting. It wasn't impossible, but feel I used my better judgement and went away from it. As an alternative, might I suggest a Titus Calypsomatic. They start cheaper and Max out in the price range of building a 6538, have very similar characteristics, share the 37mm x 47mm dimensions, many have true negative relief dials, big crowns, and they have easy to service ETA 2472s inside. Here's the one I wear regularly. It's a parts watch I built from what I acquired over time. Dial, case, movement, crystal are original. Bezel is period correct. Hands/crown are replacements. And here's a couple 100% genuine ones I restored. Not a bad profile. It's just a thought, but its a fun way to have a truly vintage piece without most of the headache that the 6538 brings. My hat is off to all the guys who've built themselves a super-franken 6538/5510 or one of the small crown Frankens. You guys are on a whole other level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes it's true gilt relief, made by the Dark Lord using a genuine Rolex pad on a genuine vintage 6538 dial blank that he stripped, using the original factory ink technique. See if you notice the error in the 2nd picture, that he corrected by the time he made the dial in picture #3. These photos are of his earlier and later efforts.
