  1. Loving these long summer nights! Getting close to midnight and the sun is still high.

  2. Just a heads up. This appears to be a 100% genuine Limited Edition Monaco for little more than the price of a lightly modded rep. It may need a polish but I don't see anything too bad. The value of the additional, genuine fresh strap and deployant buckle make it look like a bargain. Just an honest 'heads up' - I have no links with the seller. If I was in the US I would be going for it myself. http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-heuer-monaco-cs2110-chronograph-re-edition-well-worn-extras-3234570.html

  3. @ChrisBlank Beat error is the clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation of the balance wheel. With zero beat error both rotations will be equal. Anything below 0.6 is acceptable, but I prefer 0 or close to it. Some people will accept higher values and I'm a hobby watchmaker and not a master, so other opinions will be welcome. For my watches I set timing and beat to a few seconds fast per day @ zero beat error. You will need a timing machine and to learn to make the adjustments. It's delicate and tedious, but fun if you enjoy nerdy things

  4. Got to Agree I'm afraid. I have been talking to the Cartel boys to see if they can finally offer a 1675/1655 that resembles the gen. You can use the existing cartel 1655 case but you will need to remove a lot of metal to get the CG's remotely close to the gen.

  5. I would say that movement needs timing and regulation to get the beat error down. 0.5ms is right at the edge of an acceptable limit.

  6. I can do it but it's a matter of time. Friend of mine can do the machining and cold welding (moving crown position anywhere you like). I am planning to turn in mine to see if feasible as well. I'll take some measurement next time at the bench.
