  1. DAMN IT! DAMN IT! DAMN IT! DAMN IT! just when i tought i was complete with my pam collection! then again, it is true i don't have a destro yet ... DSN can you sorce/build me a .....
  2. toad and everyone ... great thread, information, and replies from everyone. i have been collecting for a little over 1 and 1/2 yrs and still consider myself a noob on certain fine details of this hobby. the resources provided are a great 'refresher' for me! thank you for being deligent and committed to this! :1a:
  3. i agree with fakey here. i now have 3 beater watches ... Rollie GMT II Pepsi, Omega SMP and newly acquired PAM029 - no super reps by any means just above entry level but the best if it explodes, dies, gets dinged up, scratched up i am not really caring because of the price point cost. however, if my gen Tourneau Dual Time Zone, TAG Professional, or my grandfathers gen Hamilton and my dad's two watches got all scratched and damaged i would be really really upset and disappointed. using the rep beater always me preserve and wear my gens for better ocassions. just my two cents
  4. ok fellow paneristis i pulled the trigger on a "trusty" 029 but from a member on another forum and it is running spot on. thanks to all who shared their opinions with me on this thread. here are some pics ... i chose this route primarily because the seller was in CONUS, had it serviced and water checked which is a BIG BIG plus on the sale, because i believe a sport watch should be able to with stand getting wet, swimming, showering, doing dishes, washing the car etc. the price was as good a "trusty's" but i did not have to shell out the additional $$$ for a watchsmith to QC / service and waterproof the watch. i do like the rubber strap but i am thinking to switch it out for maybe waterproof nato leather or black kevlar. overall i am very happy with it!
  5. email tony or sarah at watcheden maybe they can swap out the strap for you but the beauty of PAM is you can change out the rep strap for a better quality after market strap! fire away and have fun! prince
  6. Will: welcome to the forum nice to have you on board i too have been looking at homer's daylight but never pulled the trigger. i agree with HOOK to get the SS bracelet on any PAM model as aftermarket strap dealers from custom to ready for sale are a plenty; plus you will have immediate versatility with your pam - bracelet look or leather strap look. to sum up my take on purchaseing reps (+/-) ... buy what you personally like, wear them in great health, never pass it off as a GEN to avoid the possibility of getting called out. continue reading and reading and reading this forum buy quality over quantity!!! after you do your reasearch, PM some members (with discretion) directly who may have further good information on a brand / model (ie. rolex=by thor). i like to buy from the proven dealers on this site (i deal with a particular dealer who has been PERFECT and spot on) also check out, search and possibly buy from the member trade area (if you are fortunate you get the benefit of the brand/model and someone has already checked out the watch, enjoyed and is now ready to get the next "latest and greatest" or the next watch he/she personally likes but does not like the gen cost oh the most important thing, after you get your "rep / grail watch" share it with us through pictures. thread lightly my friend on the reps and straps as you will become a "rep/strap-a-holic" not to mention the temptation to buy aftermarket buckles enjoy the forum and the ride! prince
  7. wow! i can't wait to get my 029 and get it relumed! love the simplicity and sharpness of the tuxedo dial.
  8. that is just outstanding brother. congratulations! i have a 029 in bound from a member of RG and can only aspire to get it modded as yours! especially the lume!
  9. i like this price point and have a personal rule when buying reps ... nothing over $400. thanks for the input - probably going to go with trusty
  10. why is that peep? personal preference or just bad overall experience with J n A? and yes the 29 on J n A seems to be the exact same watch thanks for the input
  11. i have never used my "who has the best sub? GMT? or best out of the box rep? card till now. i am considering adding to my PAMILY a 44mm GMT. i do not want one with chronos. i like the 029 for its looks and the tuxedo dial. i torn between the "swiss" 2836-2 on Trusty's site http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...;products_id=80 or the this one from Josh http://www.jpc8118.com/pn02901-swiss-28362...onal-p-404.html both dealers are highly recommended and have good feedback. just getting into this brand of watch. thanks all in advance ... P - 458
  12. benvenuto al forum! Ricordo ora ogni volta che si riceve un nuovo orologio si prega di condividerlo con noi e ci mostrano le foto del tuo nuovo orologio! for our english speaking forum members "welcome to the forum! remember now whenever you get a new watch please share it with us and show us pictures of your new watch" i don't really speak, read or write in italian but google translator is one of my best resources
  13. not understanding the hub dub or the significance of "3rd" someone clue me in please
  14. the other nice thing with tony is you may not necessarily have to pay the listed price ... he is open to negotiations. i also will support the concept of best to buy quality now instead of just getting any old rep ... i learned the hard way when i was first starting this hobby. lucky for me the entry level reps i had acquired were purchased by some members from RWI. quality now over quantity!!! is the way to go. personally, this is a rep hobby --- i cannot see spending over $200.00 on a rep. there is a thread out on one of the forums "best rep for under $150"; if i find it i'll pm you the link. best of luck! Prince
  15. DSN has a reputation for "best out of the box PAM" on the market. the simple 6497 movement will be just fine and the 7750 works will for chrono movet watches. i am thinking of getting his PAM29 GMT like the thought process - good simple advice
  16. the passion and skill you have for making these pens just amazing! the suggestions of the forum members are all good. i would thing to compliment the soul of this pen why not a JLC - simple yet elegant! i will keep your skill and products in mind since my wife and i have several university graduations to attend to this summer -- individuals gradutating with advanced degrees - MBA/JDs
  17. my pamily consists of: pam111h (jimmy fu case) - with SS bracelet and toscana strap pam 90 on bracelet Custom made Fiddy on cracked brown vintage pam282 with blue gator strap pam212 flyback on heroic18 strap fantasy PAM111 - white dial i really like the 029 for it's simple look and gmt function. i was also thinking of getting either one from davidsen but his prices are a little rich for me
  18. looking to expand my PAMILY by adding a either a gmt or a submersible. currently all my pams are 44mm with the exception of my custom made Fiddy at 47mm. i want to add the 194 to my collection -- like the 47mm http://www.jpc8118.com/pn19401-2500m-asia-...52.html?image=1 then again i really like the 29 gmt for the "tuxedo dial" http://www.jpc8118.com/pn02903-asian-auto-...41.html?image=1 2 totally different PAMS can't figure out which one to chose from so help me. these are from josh's site
  19. it looks fine dude ... enjoy it and wear it well. this is not a rex build right? he just did the lume?
  20. Hike great looking pams! question for you, from whom and where did you get your end of the week pam from and what type of strap is that (aftermarket and from whom also)
  21. here you go ... yesterday march 24 ... tested the fantasy white dial PAM111 and the OMEGA SMP how they look dry ... omega survives - unfortantely the PAM had condensation in the morning so will have to get it sealed and the basics for water resistancay today, march 25th, tomorrow 3.26 ... doctor's appointments all day :? ... i know i'll feel kinda blue
  22. MM welcome to the forum. since you have 10 reps then it should be safe to theorize that you are knowledegable of this "hobby" where do i get my reps from or from whom: a couple of sources 1. private member sales on the 3 forums (rwg1.1 no longer has a member sales area but you can post that a interesting thread for a watch sale is over at _____ forum. 2. i prefer dealing and buying from dealers or individuals in CONUS. so my CONUS dealer is WBK on RWI and RG. i have read and deard great things for Supper Mirrors or Sead on RG only bought from him once and that rep is long gone to another "rep collector" 3. if i have to order from China, Far East, and the such i'll use Josh of perfect clones or Tony of watcheden, rolex2you, lawrence of house of souvenirs 4. EU/UK dealers Narikaa and Homer guess it all depends on your tastes and needs. i just don't like the wait time from China. would like to hear your take of your thread question and see some of the reps you currently have inyour collection Prince458
  23. agree 200% will start wearing it in daily rotation immediately!! well if it is back in production, i am glad i did not pay the asking price for this piece got it at have the price with the heroic18 strap
  24. everyone, my two usual everyday beaters / workhorses are in order 1. rolex gmt II pepsi 2. omega smp now i am thinking of giving these 2 bull horses and beaters a much deserve rest and rotate in from my PAMILY this one: on heroic18 with trident buckle i like this one what do you all think?
