  5. now, what about if this were made with a Venus movement, and thus the subdials would be reversed -- 60 seconds on the left, 30 minutes on the right... would there still be interest? or does it have to be that exact?

    Pam 242

so far nothing- remember thet 88 has a single crown...
  13. It might be true -- the pin can certainly hide somewhat when finished perfectly flush, i don't know if PVD is thick enough to mask the transition between guard and pin... Another question -- should the pin be flush or slightly recessed on the top/front? i know many reps come with it slightly recessed but it seems a lot of gen pictures have the pin perfectly flush with the surface... any gen owners wish to comment?
  14. Thanks kruzer! now, to complicate matters -- what about the special editions that are just modifications of the previously produced models... the blue 228 GMT, 222 PR, off the top of my head...
  15. With all the talk of how H-series reps have incorrect crown guards -- it seems to be confined to criticism of manual wind models such as the 111 and 112. Is the guard on automatic 44mm 2005 PAMs -- such as the normal submersibles, power reserves, GMTs, etc --- this new, larger, more aggressively brushed guard mentioned above, or is it the same as G and previous series guards? (apologies for the thread title -- I really wanted to use the word hullabaloo.)
  16. the pin can be quite nicely removed with a sanded-flat end of a pushpin...
  17. your explorer I is epically good looking, oswald... the good part about that is that the original movement for the 1016(?) beat at 21,600bph... just like the cheapy asian movements...
  18. I think it's entirely the product of the 70s designs that led to the mechanical watch industry almost becoming extinct.
  19. i'd love to see this one in all stainless... i'd snap it up in a minute.
  20. Davidsen sells them for like $30 a pop I believe.
  21. how? i cant see how a normal sized movement can have a date that far out....
  22. River has them for a pretty solid price if you email him. I assume that it will be widely available soon... hopefully a new 28,800 bph 7750 in it soon...
  23. title is self explanatory
  24. the blonde fellow on queer eye has a santos 100 several times, i believe
  25. i think it's false... the calibre p2002 has a hack function though... and a date... in a manual wind
