  1. it's just a stick on plate it looks like
  2. i wonder if the leather comes on deployant... or just tang buckle
  3. What size strap does this fella take? 22mm i hope? additionally i wonder if one could fit the kevlar looking strap that is on the ceramic doppelchrono... hopefully mr. unicorn is working on that as well??
  4. Is it just me or do the gen subdials not have the circular graining in *all* of the so-called best rep dials?
  5. How do you define a diver's watch? I assume water resistance is a given? Some manner of elapsed-time bezel? Those functions are both quite useful for diving... thus it would seem that a 'diver's watch' is defined by the fact that it has specific function which is useful in diving, no? The MM GT has no racing-specific function whatsoever; it is as specifically suited for 'racing' as any other three handed watch with a seconds hand. The 'racing' bit is just applied in the details ... the tire strap and the mille miglia branding... The MM chronos, on the other hand, have at least some functionality that would be useful in an auto racing situation... which makes it a bit more than a branding exercise...
  6. I think it's a relatively unpopular model... the MM chronos are certainly more in keeping with the 'racing' image that the MM brand tries to project... i mean... what's the use of a non-chrono 'racing' watch?
  7. Another dealer is going to get the steelfish. One that has certainly proven that they're able to deliver lower prices and honesty... I've said too much.
  8. thanks ubi! pictures forthcoming... i'm working on a 1016 as we speak... jay has a killer case with lugholes and a beautiful domed acrylic crystal and pretty good dial... i'm reworking the case as we speak... unfortunately also i've scratched the damn crystal ALREADY. any recommendations? I'm going for the well-used but not abused look...
  9. For our resident experts: On vintage oyster models sans crown guards... when the crown is fully screwed in, should the tips of the coronet logo be facing towards the crystal (up if viewed from the side) or does it matter?
  10. clarkson has had several breitlings...
  11. I apologize for muddling my parties on that one. I really don't read RWI much and thought that Klink's interests might be commingled. Really sorry.
  12. Wasn't it Klink who used to send out the "official" RWG welcome PM to new members which (under a very thin veil of describing all of the dealers on the board) was written so as to drive people to certain dealers (mostly josh, if i remember correctly)? I don't remember if this was on old RWG or RWG2... but I certainly remember a firefight about it... If so, isn't this just more of the same... it would seems obvious that someone has allegiances or loyalties (for whatever reason) to certain dealers, and is acting in a fashion to protect them... To editorialize: i thought that the addition of the '5 star dealers' thing at RWI was a bit... contrary to the idea of an 'impartial' discussion forum -- frankly 75% of the dealers here can get the same things, for the same prices as each other... how is shilling for certain dealers and ignoring their misrepresentations of products any better than what happens at replicacenter?
  13. want, want want want want want, provided it has ar/sapphire...
  14. I'd buy a rep of the alarm... as it is, $2000 for a quartz alarm clock? no way. I'd gladly pay $100 for a rep though.
  15. Does this have sapphire+AR, or mineral?
  16. Wow. The red accents are particularly striking. This is about 42mm, right?
  17. i think this model has been out for a while; and is the 'earlier' model referred to by angus in his postings on TRC... the one he showed was quite obviously better for the reasons stated by others...
  18. nice redesign, their old website was an absolute pig to navigate...
  19. JWR

    Hmmm...

fixed now... i neglected to add the attachment to the post.
  20. excuse the poor photography. 212 experts: what do you guys think of this?
  21. i think the new style rubber is about 10,000 times better than the old... i have one on the way to put on my 222... it looks so right.
  22. the bracelet was large outer links, rice grain sized center links (several) ...
  23. the poker dealer was wearing a speedmaster shumacher red face... the guy in the bahamas at the ocean club -- who lost the aston -- two tone omega constellation... i thought FM on le Chiffre as well... but the bracelet didn't look right...
  24. i love the 1950 case, sandwich dial, date on a handwind movement. that being said, the swoopy curves of the case don't fit with the linear power reserve. it's quite a technical feat i'm sure, but design wise it's jarring.
