  1. Great test. It seems that more and more "white lies" are popping up.
  2. Honestly guys ..... You are killing me. showing these beautiful Doxas. Doxas are number 1 on my list to buy and simply .....I cannot. Almost impossible to find them in Europe (even second hand ones). No shops are selling them anywhere in EU (only an Austrian guy on ebay at ridiculously high EU prices). Buying on-line from Doxa shop in US is also a "no go" by all means. These guys are applying a fix exchange rate ($/EU) of 1,25 rather than 1,47 (current market rate). For example: I like the DOXA SUB 5000T Seaconqueror. It costs new $ 1990,00 + 45,00 (Ship cost) = $2035 This, at current exch rate (1,47) is 1384 Euros. At 1,25 exch rate is 1628 Euros. To these 1628 Euros you add 20% (aprox) custom duties. That makes us 325 additional Euros which brings the final EU price at 1953 Euros .... which at current exchange rates (1,47) is: $ 2871 ......... WHICH IS $ 836 MORE than if you buy it in US. I love their watches ....and I hate their lousy pricing policy. Ahhhh....... feeling better now. PS: Most likely my post here has nothing to do with Lani's great Doxa pictures ..... but couldn't keep it inside. Had to tell somebody
  3. Come on Jos , ... talk to your contacts and convinced them to get out the IWC Vintage Aquatimer http://www.swissluxury.com/iwc-watches-vintage-collection.htm They sell like hell. .....sorry , back to TAGs.
  4. Bezel is a dead give away. Gen has metal screws that actually hold the bezel. Rep has no screws... only bezel marks.
  5. Most of us yes ... though some members may not. Always good to remind differences.
  6. Just to clear up some confusion here There are two different PAM Daylights (black dial) models. The old one (O.PANERAI is not producing this any more) , so called PAM 196: PAM 196 (click to view) And the new one , so called PAM 250: PAM 250 (click to view) These are two different models and so not be confused.
  7. Mrs Officer , mrs Officer , Pls arrest me. I have commited "criminal thoughts"
  8. I have order one one week ago. Yet to come. Asking the same question to others owners ... most of them think that the PVD coating is OK but rather sensitive. Not an everyday use watch. Not personal opinion though yet.
  9. Old or new setup 196 dial ? Edited: 29/Nov: In act you facts there is no new setup 196. The new setup is the PAM 250
  10. Yeap , this a big mama watch. Silver must be a big guy
  11. TRC and RWG I, ... back on 2002. EL, River, Paul, Efren, Adam and TTK were the dealers at that time. You could find true MBWs at that time. Reps have advanced a lot since then. I still remember EL saying that his watches were "waterproof ..... for walking under the rain".
  12. Lovely watch. Size too big for me though. The 46 mm of the BP is as far as I can go.
  13. True , ..true, obsoletely true. In acts your fact, ... this is what I am doing lately. Rather than 5 reps a year (2 of 3 of which they were coming with one problem or another), I now buy one gen second hand and only one rep. It took me 7 years and dozen of watches to get that point though Hint: To get better lack, buy from other (trusted) members and from Precious Time (since you are in EU).
  14. How is the PVD stand against scratches ??
  15. Have a look here http://www.chrono24.com/en/home/index.htm?SETLANG=ENGB
  16. The "black steel diver" is coming to me
  17. Yobokie is an artist. Does he also doing PVD ??
  18. Even though not perfect , .....it looks better than the 42 mm.
  19. @ Scotty Hi mate, I like this baby too but it seems it has no much success so far. The 42 mm (rep) has many faults. The most visible ones are: Date window, date window font, crown guards and crown (both too far off). Can only find genuines with 45 mm but cannot find any rep with 45 mm. Can you provide a link for the 45 mm rep to compare ??
  20. This is DLC (Diamond Like Carbon): http://www.rwgforum....lc-coated-gens/
