  1. Very nice KUBA, will be awesome with gen dial and hands - hope it comes together
  2. Hey DSlayer, the 45mm is a nice watch in all respects, but the PO looks perfect in 42mm! Youll love it
  3. Nice grenade buddy! I enjoyed my Graham for a while, one of the best reps out there!
  4. LOL, youre right, it wasnt Domi (I think he might be busier?). I sent it to Uwe (also in Germany), but Uwe doesnt deal with the movements - just modding. He was surprisingly quick though......I sent my watch on a thursday, on the coming Monday Uwe emailed me pics of the assembled watch
  5. Thanks buddy, yours was inspiration for mine
  6. Finally got her back from a full overhaul.......My 42mm PO Franken
  7. Hey thanks everyone! Im really loving this watch, plenty of compliments too. In terms of pricing, we are looking at a little over $1000 (parts / watch / installation etc). Yes, I have seen plenty of pre-owned 45mm PO's go for a little more (1600 - 2000 USD), but never a 42mm....(which are more popular. I have owned a gen 45mm PO as well, its just not the same as the 42mm Hi Zorg, hows it going buddy? I know you have a franken too? Was going to ask you about your He valve as well, thanks for bringing it up totally forgot. Yes the valve screws all the way, BUT, It seems that the "crown" is a bit bigger in diameter than the rep and it catches the side of the case. But its tight and fully closed. How is yours fitted? Hello my friend! Well the crystal I had on the rep was a Taka AR coated one, and although very good, the dial just didnt pop as much as it does with the gen one. The gen crystal is mostly invisible The AR is alot nicer too.......
  8. Nice Andei!! My "new" baby
  9. oooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo...........looks amazing!! Thanks compiling the pics and info. In the side-by-side shots, is the rep on the left or right? Even when they are together very hard to spot any major differences! One that does stick out is the size of the date window and DW font (looks alot bigger and bolder on the watch on the left). Sweet PAM though.......
  10. Hey guys, Ever since I started learning about reps and spending more time on the forums I have always wanted to "build" a franken PO (I'd say it was one of my grails)......... So recently things sort of fell into place and I picked up a 5th gen 42mm PO (with a gen dial, hands and clasp) from a great member. I then started the fun part (gen parts gathering)...... 42 mm gen PO Parts Gen: Dial, Hands, Crystal, Crown, Bezel, Bezel Spring, HE screw / valve, ETA DW and Clasp Once everything was gathered, off everything went to a modder in Germany (who put the watch together in less than 2 days) The gen crystal makes a world of difference! Here are some quick shots of the result, an absolute beauty (IMO).......I love it!!
  11. Andei and TwoTone your pics are amazing!!! @ TwoTone: you took those with an iPhone???? Did you use a photo App? or post edit the photos? or are they RAW? @ Andei: those lightning pics are mesmerising!! Havnt played with my D90 in a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time
  12. Awesome review and pics! Makes me miss mine Really really nicely made watch IMO.
  13. Yikes! A bit of a dilemma mate. Was this a private sale or from a dealer? If its from a dealer then maybe you can ask them why you received an Asian ETA (when youve paid for a Swiss?). I guess a private sale is more tricky. Secondly - why why why didnt you just buy a gen dial and hands???? As you say, there really is no point spending $1200 on a rep with no gen parts......you could have built a fully franked up PO for that price. Other options: (1) Buying a Swiss movement (2) Selling the watch as spares/parts (see how much you can re-coup), then start all over again! I think either way youre going to make a few losses (sorry to be negative) Rgds

    Its Here

    Looking good! Congrats
  15. Hey Wheaton, thanks for the effort in putting the comparison together - fantastic!! I think the pics speak for themselves - and its a darn good rep!..... First noticeable differences are: (1) Clarity of the crystal - rep looks a little cloudy. The black on the gen dial "pops" more! (2) Engraving on the CG is crisp on the gen (3) Date font on the rep is slightly bolder (4) Second hand is slightly shorter / stubbier (5) All the font / markers etc on the rep seem ever-so-slightly bolder Otherwise its fantastic (if you dont have the gen next to it)
  16. Looks really good Congrats!!
  17. Excellent effort! Deserve a "medal".......
  18. :Jumpy: :Jumpy: Now thats a PAM!!! Its stunning, im in love with the dial! So is this a fantasy build or based on a gen model?
  19. One of the best looking watches out there! Need to save up and get me one of these ASAP! Wear in great health Joerg.
  20. You could get a pretty good franken! I reckon the essentials are definitely: dial, hands and crystal. (That will strecth you to 800USD / £500 ish inc of the watch). The bezel on the 5th gen is actually pretty good (bar the lume pip). Otherwise you would need a gen 42mm sitting next to the rep to notice differences in the crown and He "valve"......
  21. EDIT: I meant Cousins.....not Ofrei!
  22. This is the rep game - there is no "sanity" UPDATE: Received all the parts from Ofrei and they (together with the 5th gen PO) are off to a modder in Germany for a MAJOR facelift!!! Pics to follow in a few weeks........im excited!
  23. :thumbsupsmileyanim: Couldnt ask for a better collection! Well done
  24. Sorry, silly question guys, but who is MBK? I dont think Ive owned any of his watches. This is sad news all the same, may he RIP.
