  1. this one will need a gen dial/handstack and crystal as a minumum (w/ eta7753 of course), that's if they fix the dateset pusher
  2. W, your prayers have been answered. Josh just posted pre-release pics on RG:
  3. I don't know how I missed this awesomeness, all I can say is WOW! One for each day of the workweek Now go make some WE watches, R!
  4. Alright, which one did you end up getting?
  5. Ahh, so you are Pete's friend whos building the anthracite dialed 40mm. I'll check around for a gen handstack.
  6. OEM = Gen 40mm parts are impossible to get, what model handstack are you looking for?
  7. Hi Guys, Just a super quick pictorial of a project I've been working on for over two years; in its current iteration, which you can see below - for about 19 months. My wife loved this model when I gave her an A21J cheapie that I found for $120 and put on a faux brown WACCEX gator strap almost three years ago Between what you see in the pics and her original China-PAM48 there are about four 40mm builds of various calibers and about seven or eight watches sacrificed for parts. It went like this - PAM48 cheapie > EL PAM48 with mods > EL PAM49 with mods and now finally a franken MBK/MBW PAM48. The reason it took so long was because it was always work in progress after I purchased the MBW PAM48K in 2009. All the while I was sourcing an OEM black dial and hands, which are insanely difficult to find BTW, I passed up five OEM white dials for a PAM49/51 and two anthracite dials for a PAM119/120. But I think I'm finally done and most importantly, she loves the result almost as much as the $120 one from 3 years ago You can see by the swirls and marks on the case it's watch that's worn. Specs: MBW PAM48 base OEM Dial OEM Hands OEM Rubber & Gator OEM 2 x Deploy Taka v1 DW ETA7750 (Chronograph grade) Custom CP a.k.a. "Sander-mod" by The Zigmeister Huge thanks to The Zigmeister for his magic touch
  8. I answered you on the other board where you originally posed the question, I can copy my response here if you want.
  9. http://www.1-pc8838.com/0219-p-10310.html A21J but will probably come with other movement options.
  10. cousinsuk.com should have your parts. you need them in h5 heights 242 cannon-pinion 2.9mm (eta2890 part) 2558 double toothed hour wheel 2.04mm (eta2893-2 specific part) 227 second wheel 5.61mm (eta2890 part)
  11. This is your best 111 build: 111J Dial topplate 111J Case 111J Caseback 111J Crown 111J Movement 111J CG lever & lever pin 111J Tang buckle 111M Crystal (but use 111J gasket) 111M SL-lined dial backplate 111M CG body & screws 111M Lug screws DSN back dial marina L handstack* *If you have SL and can relume then just relume 111J handstack. Or if you have an aversion to either then keep 111M handstack.
  12. That's mostly the new flaws with v2, if you want to go over the whole watch in comparison to the 111J (which is by no means perfect either, just better) we can do that too. Folks, you have to remember that if the watch looks good to you, then that's all that matters, you don't need me to tell you what to like. But in the words of the late great C.Wallace "And if you don't know, now you know".
  13. Depends on how in-depth you want to get. The crown, case, CG lever, movement, caseback and dial top plate are better on the 111J. You really need a hybrid of two using the best parts.
  14. It's OK. I would say it's marginally worse by newly introduced flaws in comparison to the best H-factory releases thus far - namely 177L & 005K. This new 111M is really a PAM rep by the lazy for the lazy. Some things are a little better but not without more sacrifices elsewhere. It's obvious this rep is nicer than a typical 111 rep of the olden days though. + The CG pin position is raised by a hair - But because of the above the pivot point is higher in the lever so when locked the stub is pointing down - Since the lever was moved up or for some othr reason now the lever tip is longer + The lever stub profile is not so fat - Still no straight angles in the crown cut out corners - CG body looks off because the crown cut out is made deeper, now part of the lever is showing through the top right corner. - CG fit to case is meh even on the native case :/ - Movement sucks but for a different (deco) reason now - LMP print still sucks, it's a hair too narrow and it's grayish which is incorrect for 111. - Lume fill still makes the top dial plate look too shallow - Hands still look crappy around the hubs - CP needs flattening and polishing Overall I would give it a D+ with the curve set by 111J. 111J - B+ 177L - C+ 005K & 318K - C+ 176 & 177M - C 219L - C
  15. Sander, I tried sending you taka's email but you're not accepting PMs.
  16. Very nice! The T48 looks like it's from an older batch?
  17. Evening guys, I know the original LOGO build is becoming almost as ubiquitous as the the H-factory 05K rep. But for me it's a first PreV so hopefully I did OK. It's been a long time coming but I finally stopped procrastinating and forced myself to finish all the components that needed fabrication and then finally assembled the complete watch. Enormous thanks to The Zigmeister for his amazing aged tritium luminous application & dial texture, and KBiz for prodding me along and machining a case tube Photographer I'm not hopefully you can make out enough detail to see all the areas I worked on. Build sheet for the curious: 111J case completely reshaped (see my case thread), lugs drilled, rehaut polished Custom machined tube to match this specific T48 crown H-Factory crystal H-Factory CG body, reshaped for case fit and refinished for PreV-like satination & machine swirlies added for the lever pin Oldschool EL CG lever drilled, silicon bushing fitted & rebrushed, best closure I've been able to produce to date Jakob's latest CB Swiss 6497-1, CP flattened & polished FGD's latest batch dial The Zigmeister lumed and varnished FGD's v2 base handstack WSO PreV lug pins NOS Wojtecki PreW strap
  18. Right here on RWG-- Also, you can use Sead1999's crowns with ultimate cartels w/o swapping the tube.
  19. I took a look at ofrei for crystal presses and they're $$... I wonder if anyone has found a reasonably priced alternative.
  20. You probably mean the 219 case - those need the thin rep gasket same as 111J case. The Matt/C3 gasket is only good for JimmyFu or OEM case as it's prohibitively thick. Also, in the same vein if someone knows a good crystal press please share the knowlege - mine is this POS and it looks like I'm not the only one having problems with it:
  21. As it turns out (or maybe it's just me), a standard rep crystal gasket is not such an easy thing to procure on its own these days. Having recently tried finishing a couple of builds that I put off for long enough, I discovered that the several spare crystal gaskets I had stashed for such days of spontaneous inspiration are all stretched or possibly otherwise damaged. Naturally, they don't want to fit my 111J case like the flimsy brittle bastards they are. Tried freezing them but apparently nylon also sucks for heat expansion so off I went in a search of replacement gaskets along the way realizing that it's not as trivial as it used to be.. Or was it ever easy to find one of these before? Here are some numbers so you don't think this bozo came unpreared or worse - tried to fit a bezel gasket in place of a crystal gasket Typical premium (3.5mm center thickness) crystal diameter: o 35.XXmm (where XX in my experience is anywhere from 49 to 57) Bezel I-ring gasket thickness: o JimmyzFu - 0.56mm o 111J - 0.49mm Crystal I-ring gasket thickness: o OEM PAM - 0.56mm o C3 - 0.56mm o 111J - 0.42mm Here our my findings at the end of the day (well not really all in a days work, I kind of already knew OEM|C3 gasket won't fit rep cases) - The readily available C3 gasket is OEM size and thus will only fit a Jimmy or OEM case. - DSN has either none to sell or he doesn't like me anymore. - Jackson has none to sell, and as I found out from speaking to another member his gasket doesn't work well with thicker crystals. - eBay search doesn't turn up much, there's one Turkish guy selling something that looks like it may work but his description is murkier than Chicago river now. - Ofrei, JB & Eslinger have every imaginable O- and I-ring gasket in every material sans the one size nylon I-ring I'm looking for - CousinsUK has what may or may not work in the form of part numbers IG363355C1 & IG363355C2, it's .40mm thick and up 35.5mm inner diameter and up to 1.75mm thick (C2). So if you actually manage to make it to the end of this writeup - is there an easier way to get a couple of these damn gaskets?
  22. Wow, sweet! can never get enough of that 127. The strap is nice too, though I personally prefer smaller scales
  23. MP- I'm not disputing the fact that it's a rule but since we're having this discussion already, how does crossing out the price help me in my above mentioned scenario? Moreover, have you ever tried asking the buyer if the price should stay? I did for a while and not one person wanted to price to show.
  24. if you sell the watch for less than list and leave the original price you're not telling the truth, but if you adjust every discounted piece after the sale people will lowball even more on your other sales. are we really having some kind of a valid issue here related to people removing the price?
