  1. Of course it is but Josh doesn't 'do' paypal anymore, accounts were fried a while back by some disatisfied RWI customer apparently.
  2. What an utterly gorgeous photo The light, the faded grey tint of the bezel, my god she's an (ugly) beauty all right.
  3. Just a quick pit-stop and then I catch this...... You bastards! More than enough candy to keep me happy, very little time to even think about watches never mind jump on another, and yet a few Hawaiian-sunlit pics, some old friends echoing my own restrained thoughts, and I feel my resistance crumbling. Pathetic. First it was Ubi's Yachtie, and now this, the madness takes hold once more..... Going to justify it by saying it will complete my Diving Holy Trinity - Aquagraph, BR-02, and DSSD (cue lecture from Nanuq on the pleasures of a Black Lung DOXA )
  4. Whoah hold on there Freddy.... Placed a custom order with Josh recently. He sent custom payment link to his site. Went through all fine. Then got email from this luxury-mall, saying thank you for purchasing on www.pc-80108.com etc.....with the amount and my details all correct. Then got confirmation from Josh himself with order no. So not sure how you can say there's no connection? As for this thread outlining CC fraud, well it just makes me obviously. Didn't use a regular card but a reminder why I prefer the 'safety' of paypal. Something to ponder, but have cancelled/reordered a new card just in case.
  5. I'd be interested in a couple (on white, one silver), still have a couple of Ubi/Archi overlays about plus a gen silver c.1570 flat-top DW, but always interesting to see new attempts. Good luck with the radial brushed finish on the silver - pull that one off and you'll be a hero
  6. *** URGENT *** NEED BY 1200 GMT FRIDAY IF HUMANLY POSSIBLE Had these saved on my other laptop, which I don't have with me at the moment and want to pass this info onto a friend. Anyone in the EU have them (or a screengrab) to hand? Oh and please don't post info from Ofrei - he's not US-based and anyway I wouldn't want to inflict Bob "personality disorder" Frei on him Thanks all
  7. SIX months ago my friend? Why that's practically a gestation period (pity that dial project we hoped for never happened, but much as I'd love your new YM too, the exchange rate is a bit of a pinch right now). As for BS pics, well as Lani says, I recently sent him about 7 or 8 or so various angles etc. (I have a few more) for Part Deux of his/Andrew's review. Re. comparison pics, well I'll see what I can rustle up, depending on when my rep arrives. However, please bear in mind I'm pulling 20-hour days at the moment, not to mention another all-nighter tonight before catching a flight tomorrow lunchtime, then back next week for 24 hrs before heading off to see family for Christmas. I'm frickin' exhausted to be honest, but if I get the chance over the holidays, before I part with the gen, I'll do all I can to snap a few head-to-heads with my new Leica compact that I've yet to christen. Just in case, I'll send Lani the rest of the pics I promised.
  8. you have to sport a pained expression as if in deep scientific thought, whilst staring down at the floor and both arms behind your back.... ....otherwise you might look a bit...ahem.....well, a bit like an "orange leather PO or Leopard Daytona" owner
  9. Ahhh, that's so sweet, just think of the look on their little faces when they open up........a WM9 Yachtie My Blacksteel is en route (finally), and my gen about to be flipped, mwahaha.....thanks for confirming our suspicions Lani, even if it nearly gave you some sort of infarct.
  10. A stunning rep, especially that gorgeous bold font (<2007) dial and case (CGs and the crown alignment afforded by the movt). Shocking DW though, thankfully have an excellent replacement in the parts box, but still for that price.....
  11. Do these two essential mods (Omega Flightmaster hands plus gen twinlock c/t), AND relume back to a nice minty fresh off-white (hey, as TMG says, I'm a purist ), and you and I could come to a very agreeable solution for relocating this beauty Tell you what, I'll even let you keep that Jubilee
  12. Personally I think you'd be best off just ponying up and buying one from the Apple Store or from Mobistar - two reasons, one you'll get a warranty, and secondly finding any Apple kit, not just iPhones, at anything less than retail is just so very very unlikely to be not worth the time and effort spent looking.
  13. Congrats. There's nothing like the feeling you get on hearing the news, then lighting up one of Havana's finest in celebration, receiving the congratulations of all those around you, before eventually hanging up the phone and realising it's now safe, finally, to leave the pub and go over to the hospital
  14. They're PAYG now here in Europe.
  15. Firstlt, it's actually not all that complicated (or expensive) a movement really, just had some reliability problems that caused its release (originally in Aquaracer Regatta clothes) to be pulled at the last minute and delayed for a further year. Secondly, it's actually an electro-mechanical movement, I posted a 'mystery' pic of back last year in some quiz thing or other - it even foxed The Zigmeister - lots of gears surrounded by quartz copper coils, weird-looking thing. Oh and finally, that low battery indicator you saw (it's a 4-sec jump not 5) is actually characteristic of all ETA quartz movements, neither specific to TAG Heuer or the Calibre S in particular. If you want a c.S watch, then don't waste your time with shitty reps, just buy a gen. Some good deals around. Aquaracer version is still a little weedy in its 41mm case, the Link is still a little too bland, but the new SLR version looks interesting.
  16. I know and care little about the soulless charlatan of industrial anti-theft toilet design that is the HBB, but...... I have seen the Luna Rossa up close and personal and the the thing that screams out from the pic of the rep above is the strap. The gen had a smooth firm rubber strap with discreet-ish Hublot logo an inch or so inferior to the lugs. Right, don't mind me, carry on discussing ceramic what-nots
  17. Meh, rose gold Of all the gen variants I've tried on, this was the only one that I couldn't wait to remove from my wrist. This baby demands, I say DEMANDS to be cast in SS. Or if you're a little maladjusted then I suppose PVD is permissible Naturellement, un SS avec 'numeral indices' en arriv
  18. Interesting Ubi, most interesting. I have no experience whatsoever with 1680s so I had no idea. Putting aside the fact the seller is likely dodgy then, how did what looks to be a legit 2-3k Mk II DRSD dial physically end up in that case? Would he really be so stupid to trim it down and render it worthless? But then I suppose he had a lot to gain. But at this level, such claimed provenance you would expect to be scrutinised surely, so I still don't get the thought behind a fraud like this? Hoping for a buyer with more money than sense I suppose.
  19. Well I wouldn't necessarily take their opinion as gospel. I'd be interested to know if those blurry pics add up to something or not - wouldn't surprise me if one of our Genevan friends 'Otto' or 'Fritz' bodged the job and fitted an incorrect dial.
  20. Did a double take on THIS interesting lot.... A standard '70 1680 Sub, with that synonymous T127 thick and massively-magnified cyclops, and then I see it..... An almost perfect Mk II 1665 DRSD dial Seller is, as expected, claiming it's super-rare, unique etc (which it may well be) and the implication from the description and illegible Rolex papers, is that the RSC attempted to recall/replace the incorrect dial but the original buyer (shrewdly) refused. Fair enough, but I wonder in that case how that particular DW got in there considering the age of the watch? Hmmmm However, if these papers stack up then this is akin to those stamps that go out with imagers printed upside down, a manufacturing error - I wonder if that equates to $90k (about a $75k premium over the 'stock' 1680 underneath)? Thoughts gentlemen?
  21. You know what I like most about those pics? The guy in the MN wetsuit larking about Nice to see a sense of fun amongst the typically stuffy anal-retentive obsessive completists that usually make up the vintage Rolex crowd.
  22. The Omega hands are from a Flightmaster. Always nice to see another of these beauties, but please get rid of that awful Jubilee. I'm not a fan of them generally but it looks especially wrong on a 1655.
  23. Errr, the Pope likes green cheese on his afternoon cornflakes but only if it is made from a Venezuelan goat *clue - wild stab in the dark here but I think you've maybe posted in wrong thread
