  1. Aloha All! The date wheel is slipping or lose on my GMT c. So i believe its time to just pull the old asia movement out and toss in something with a higher beat count. My dial and hands have been VAClumed and look great Question 1 Whats movement is plug and play?? (I want to keep the hands and date wheel) Question 2 What can I expect with the GMT hand's gearing? Question 3 What other questions should I be asking? Thank you for any input
  2. WHOA! explain your self!! how easy did the bezel come off? crystal? whats up with the gasket? and part numbers etc. etc. ! lets get the details looks good!
  3. Bump on the crystal swap! anyone done it?
  4. sorry that photo is way too big!
  5. Mines amazing! I got it here (TYasimplefarmer!!!), its been lumed (VAC). I beat on it every day and it rewards me by keeping time +/- 3 seconds in 24 hours . If I were to mod it further A Clark crystal replace the bracelet as its end link is skinny on one side by maybe 1mm And just continue to beat it up then pass it on! As for the movement, it would be nice if had a smoother sweep and the GMT hand which i use daily is a little tough to set perfectly best Ive gotten is 6 minutes off (GMT hand top of the hour minute hand at 6 after. I could care less if the movement dies, $17.00 and I'm back in action! GL!
  6. Whats up with the "modded" movement? I'm not bagging on the asia movement ($17 to replace is not bad), but whats really going on there? is it an Swiss ETA or the clone? What are the pros and cons.
  7. I think its GREAT!! wear it well! good picks of the build too. Thank you Tear down to build it up!
  8. Bleached is hot! Good luck on the tritium pearl, if you find a source please pass it on! Did you lume the hands and dial?
  9. Love it! only now i have an Oyster perpetual Date Complex!
  10. Joey, Awesome write up on the PAN AM GMT!(a PAN AM with the PAN AM logo would be sooo sweet) I'm trying to avoid the decals as they spook me a little. I think my best option until I can "convince/ bribe" a Dealer to have a run off of the double red Sub dial made is to consider the vintage double red seadweller {Angus $198}. Its right at my price point and I'm sure if I pick up four or five of them I can get the price knocked down a little http://www.rwgforum.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dirol.gif. Another option is buying blank sub dials off the bay for $15 and setting up a mini silkscreen and print it my self, (daunting!) but super custom and might make a better gift then out of the box. I really think that out of the box + lume + TAD gear band + tune up and grease is the way to go.
  11. On that right now, what/who's base model would you use??
  12. Any ideas on either sourcing or printing my own dial? I love this watch and would like to build a set for my groomsmen at my wedding. If the dial isn't an option what is the most cost effective source on the case and Swiss ETA movement (if I was putting it together my self)? How would you build it for under $200? Thanks and Mahalo
  13. I'm loving my ceramic GMT with the VAC lume job! +2sec a day aint bad thanks "simple farmer"! Looks great on the girlfriend how ever I do get a little envious and make her take it off! HA
  14. Did you ever find your screws? I'm on the hunt a well!
  15. I'm looking for a black case screw, lost mine two weeks ago. Found a barely passable pvd philips that fits the diameter and length but not the head height, it would be nice to get a precision replacement. (locite!)
  16. One month into my BR-03 92 black PVD (ETA) from Andrew, Loses only 3 seconds per day as compared to the GPS in my office. I consider that amazing! how ever its had a few issues, the hour hand was not set correctly so I had to pop the case to adjust it then I failed to put locite on the the case screws and am now down to three & the lume I would only give a 2 out of ten. Hope this helps
