  1. The idiots are the ones bidding on it.
  2. They don't get any faker than that. I don't think he knows it's fake or he wouldn't have mentioned the 2836-2 ETA movement. I emailed him so I'll see if he gets back to me. Good catch.
  3. I've done 2 of them now and I left the day wheel on one and took it off the other. It didn't seem to make any difference. You can snip off the dial feet with side cutter pliers and file it down flat or cut it off with a Dremel and smooth it.. It's easy. I just picked up a case and dial for a 16013 TT with silver dial and gold markers. Can't wait to get started.
  4. What did you pay for it? IdealWatches is considered a scam site by most people here, I believe. If it is a Swiss ETA movement it would be 25j, not 27j. This is just my opinion but I'll throw it out anyway. That watch with Swiss movement would be about $180 to $220 from most dealers. A little more with the box. With some good pictures and proven Swiss movement, your probably going to be able to get somewhere around $125 to $175 unless you get lucky. So, is this good news or bad?
  5. Damn Dave, this is the first one I've seen that really makes me jealous. That's a beauty. (Hope they make a good rep of it. lol)
  6. The cyclops is not the same shape. It's taller and thinner than a gen. Magnification looks about right.
  7. It probably wont be long before you're moving up to one of the more expensive reps. The addiction is just beginning. Just plan on putting away 1/2 of each paycheck for the first six months and you'll be OK.
  8. These are my favorites. Mostly because I built them, with Stilty's help.
  9. It's my understanding (and I could be wrong) that the 2836 and 2824 were earlier low beat movements before the 2836-2 and 2824-2 came out. And the 116200 is a Datejust with white gold bezel. That's what my gen case and dial are telling me.
  10. Too big and cumbersome on the wrist for me. Plus the lume dot at 4 was a little irritating on V2. I preferred the SOSF.
  11. This should help. Push is out from the small circle in the center of the silver disk.
  12. He needs to rethink his business name: YUKI WATCH.
  13. I think the price on these has been coming down since several dealers began selling this one with the Asian 2824-2 for $149.
  14. They fixed the crown guards and left the too large crown. The bezel and bezel lip are nice and somewhat better pearl, but why did they use that horrible "Wokky" case? That's a dead giveaway from 10 feet.
  15. Thanks so much Rob. That makes me feel much better about it.
  16. Not trying to highjack this but, I've got a gen vintage Omega that is jerky on the way downhill. Laying flat or going up it's OK. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It was just totally serviced.
  17. If your source isn't confidential, I've been looking for a couple of movements. I'd appreciate some information. You could PM me if you can help.
  18. Forget my last. The more I look, the crappier it looks.
  19. It's not a rep case back. Looks like real wood on that one. Not at all like my rep.
  20. I would think of Franken as a watch that is virtually indistinguishable from a gen, but which contains at least some non-genuine parts. The main ingredients would have to be gen case, dial, and crystal. Although there are surely some of each of these items that would be indistinguishable.
  21. You need AjoeSmith's tutorial. It has detailed pictures. Sssurfer put it up on a website you can download a couple of weeks ago. Try here: http://www.4shared.com/file/64540613/420884db/aj4813.html Also if you're installing an overlay, it's whole lot easier to take of the old one and glue on the new one. Just make sure you get the date lined up before the glue hardens. I used rubber cement cause it's easy to remove if you screw up.
  22. Thanks, here's the cal 562 movement being serviced: Isn't that a beauty?
  23. Here' mine. It's just on the way back from a full service, cleaning and new plexi crystal. I can't wait to get it back. Maybe tomorrow.
  24. What ever happened to Fakey's new forum? Has he folded up his tent yet?
