  1. I can't specifically answer for a SSD, but in the Datejust they are interchangeable. So. I would assume they are. The most important thing is making sure you get the movement with tall hand pins. If you get the wrong size and have to change them from the old movement, it's definitely a job for a watch smith, not an amateur. The standard size won't work. And don't worry about the day wheel. It doesn't show with the dial in place.
  2. I e-mailed Vac a couple of days ago about the same thing and haven't heard back from him. Is he currently around and available?
  3. First thing that jumped out at me was the HE valve in the reflection. That screams SSD.
  4. Excellent pictures. I'd be sold except I already have the same one. It's every thing you say and then some. It's the first watch I've had that has knocked my SSD off my wrist as the one I wear the most.
  5. I just received mine yesterday and can't agree more. This is a fantastic replica. Also, I had 2 screws that were different from the rest. If I had any complaints, that would be the only flaw I've seen. Most people are going to be taking a couple links out so it's easy to get rid of them.

    ETA

I bought one from Bandmaniac. (The gold one) I had to have the hand pins switched since they were too short for my rep. So either it's genuine or the genuine parts fit a rep. This went into a 2824 ETA Datejust.
  7. Fakemaster has been rambling about starting a new forum for months. Maybe he's the brains of the outfit?
  8. Lani, If you're asking me, I didn't ask the question. Just posted a possible answer.
  9. The Oil Companies preparing for a Democratic House, Senate, and White House? And the end of the Bush/Cheney Regime.
  10. Yet Angus is "supposedly" one of the other members of the Cartel. Now what do you do?
  11. I can vouch for what he said. My Beginmariner broke in the exact piece he showed. It's good to know what caused the problem.
  12. Running fine and keeping good time. The GMT hand has a mind of it's own, though. It goes round but doesn't keep correct time. Since I don't really use the GMT function, it doesn't bother me enough to send it back.
  13. I can only add one experience. I had to replace a Datejust movement and had Josh send me a clone ETA 2836. It's worked fine out of the box for the last couple of months and keeps excellent time. So at the moment I'm very happy with them. The old movement was "supposedly" Swiss ETA but I have my doubts. It never ran right even after 2 trips to Rex450's shop.
  14. Selita doesn't stamp Rolex or Omega, or whatever on the rotors either. Certainly that wouldn't be a problem for rep makers. Notice the ETA stamps on some of the alleged Swiss are sh*t compared to others.
  15. Selita is also a Swiss Company. Therefore they (can) make Swiss Movements.....They also manufacture movements in China. Selita also makes ETA 2836-2 and 2824-2 clones. ETA patent has expired on these movements. This, I suspect, is where a lot of the clone ETA movements come from. Just my humble opinion. 2 + 2 = 4
  16. I've had mine for about 3 weeks and have had only a small problem of the GMT hand not being exactly lined up on hour when it should be. The difference is not enough to bother me so I have left it pretty much alone. It's been kicking along happily on a winder since I got it but I did have to adjust the regulator. It was losing about 3 minutes a day. I've turned the regulator about all the way to the plus side and now it's gaining a few seconds a day. It keeps pretty much the same exact time as the other 3 on the winder. All in all, I'm very happy with it. I just find I don't wear it because it's such a nice watch I don't want to scratch it. I'd rather beat up my SSD>
  17. I like the "Made in Switlerland" on the Rotor.
  18. OQ was the best watch I've ever owned. I'd love a rep but doubt it will ever happen. The case and bracelet are different from any other that Rolex produced. The rep makers would probably have to spend too much for a such a small market segment.
  19. Very nice looking. I just don't understand making a left handed watch?
