  1. Sorry, the gen hands won't fit on the 21J movement. Only on the ETA clone movement which isn't this one. Also, Not sure but I believe the $95 price was only while he was in Bangkok.
  2. Vintage leather strap is also gen with gen gold buckle. Both frankens and I wouldn't change anything, either.
  3. This is also the movement for many for the Datejust models from the same era, if anyone has a Franken they want to turn into a gen. I have no idea about whether or not it's good price, but I have bought from Teokl several times and he's a great guy to deal with.
  4. I will agree it doesn't appear to be an ETA movement.
  5. I changed my mind. I believe it's an SW200 by Sellita. Being Sellita, it is in fact a "Swiss" movement in that Sellita is a Swiss company. for more information: SW200 Sellita
  6. It's real hard to tell with those pictures. I'll be curious to hear what the experts say, but if I had to guess, I'd say ETA. Looks like a little water damage.
  7. My most current batch. I guess you all know what these are so I won't list them. Only thing exciting, at least to me is the two franken DJ's.
  8. I wish the stem would go in that easy when I do it.
  9. heh heh!! No fish here lately.... other than Steel Fish.
  10. If you've got nothing better to do, take a one second picture, then count:
  11. acrylic pearl
  12. What is the significance of having 1 through 6 on the bezel? Obviously not a dive watch or a GMT.
  13. I can't answer your questions but I will say that 2 piece case back is very interesting. The titanium piece is the piece that is waterproofed with the main case, not the normal SS screw in part. It appears that part creates the inward (or downward) pressure on the seal, which is between the titanium piece and the case. It would seem that as the outside pressure increases, the pressure against the seal would also increase. I hope that makes some sense.
  14. No one has mentioned Rodico putty. Is that not also used to clean the dials and glass?
  15. From what I've heard, this company will private label these for $180 apiece with a minimum order of 12.
  16. A gift from the Secret Service. Picture appropriated from RG.
  17. Don't forget Daytonas.
  18. Ladyfashionsky.com Her name is Catty. Very nice. My wife has bought several.
  19. The V3 also has a 2 piece case back with titanium insert as per the gen. From what I've read the V2 is a one piece and the center of the case back is simulated titanium. Also, the lume on the v3 is better and closer to the actual blue of the gen. Both the hands and the numerals are matching lume whereas the v1 is green and the v2 is blue with green hands. The bezel is supposed to be better as far as the ceramic quality but the bezel fonts are a little thinner.
  20. That was a version 2. The date window is beveled on that which is good. You'll have to do a search for all the differences. It comes from a different factory than the V3. Most people recommend servicing watches every 5 years. Both movements should last many years, particularly with servicing. And, Watchlover1, I strongly feel there are a lot of watch repair people that wouldn't immediately know the difference between the Swiss and Asian, especially when the Asian has the ETA stamp. I had a watch repairman tell me a movement was Swiss ETA that I knew for a fact it wasn't.
  21. I doubt it's actually a SWISS ETA movement for that price. That's about the going price for the Asian clone of the ETA in V3 of the DSSD. Maybe somebody else can give you more information about Sinowatches.
  22. Should look like this:
  23. This generation needs instant gratification.
  24. Remember you can't "twist" the dial without changing the date in the date window. If the date is properly lined up you need to move the movement and dial, which, as someone said earlier depends on how well the stem is lined up in the crown tube. Not very much adjustment available.
  25. I find it interesting that the poster says basically no oil is better than too much oil, and that a movement with no oil could last 10 to 15 years. And these movements aren't going into heirlooms. So from a production point of view it's better to under oil these movements for lower cost and less warranty returns.
