I can't believe that a clone and and ETA aren't the same size. Wouldn't that be the main point of making a clone?
I think you must have taken out a 2836-2 and replaced it with a 2824-2, which is slightly thicker. I'd bet a 2836-2 would fit.
Stilty,
As I said before, if you want to come down to Florida for a vacation, you're still welcome. Now might be the perfect time. I'll take care of you and the family on the cheap....promise.
I see they do still have some. He does take some nice pictures.
White faced 16200 is also one of my favorites. Actually, that's what I'm wearing right now.
As she said, watches were only one of the reasons. I'm sure it wasn't the most important one.
If you'd been on the net looking at porn instead of watches, she'd be complaining about that instead.
The hands are different. lume size is smaller in PC's.
Dial is different. Look where "Speedmaster" ends on both of them. The "R" on Josh's ends below the date window.
Josh's looks nicer but it could be that he just takes better picture. Compare the two to a gen.
I'd suggest having someone make one for you. Here's a nice piece of vintage croc that I had made (27 x 22).
Cost was much less than what it would cost from a manufacturer.
I have both of them and although the UPO is a more accurate rep, I like the size of the 42 better. I would highly recommend you buy the rubber strap at the same time from Narikka. It's an excellent piece and makes the watch much more comfortable on your wrist.
Why don't you have it serviced and know you've got a perfect watch?
I just had a similar issue with a 7750 that I really like and I think $90 or so is good peace of mind for a keeper.
I'm kinda thinking if I lived in Switzerland (The watchmaking capital of the world), I wouldn't be flaunting reps in the noses of Swiss Customs Officers.
I used to own a company that manufactured rubber auto parts. My guess is that after the mold is made for a a couple of grand, the cost of a strap is less than a quarter. Add another quarter for the buckle probably.
$68 is highway robbery.
Narikka was selling the 42mm shipped for less than $30 delivered and it's an excellent quality strap that doesn't collect dust. Why should a 45mm one be so much more?6
Pardon my ignorance, but how do they get the minute sub dial from the 3 o'clock to the 12 o'clock position?
Is this another potential Daytona type module stuck on the 7750? No sunken date wheel, though.
Unless I'm mistaken, a Swiss ETA 7750 runs close to $600.....
And Col and Freddy,
I didn't say I'd buy it. I'd rather have the nonfunctioning Asian in my watch box than a non functioning Swiss.
Yes, far and away the best and closest to gen you can buy. I'd contact BKLM for it though. You'll get more personalized service, better QC and he's in the US. He's a distributor here for WM9.
I know it's all a matter of opinion but I really don't like the look or the feel of the DSSD. I had one and sold it. I'd go with the Sub, although I'd much rather have the Watchmaker9 version of the regular sub.
Narikka is based in Europe. He goes to Bangkok several times a year on buying trips. Not sure about Eurotimez. I thought he was in Hong Kong but could be wrong.
There are several posts here about where to find the MBW stall in the MBK shopping center. Search "MBK" and you'll find lots of info. Several posts have the actual picture of the place.
