That's totally different from the UPO, it's the smaller version of the PO. Same model as Sead's selling over on RG. I've got one and it's very nice. I think I paid $300 delivered.

I have a black dial with white subdials and the printing is 1000% better than that. Not from Spin, though.

Contact BK in the Collector's Section. He has replacement crown and tube sets that will work for you. I don't know about the stem. What movement is it?

Your hosting site was so slow I gave up after looking at just one. The second one I tried twice and it never loaded. Maybe others had the same problem.

I've heard it's an anti-reversing gear that gets gummed up or stuck. Sorry I can't help you with how to fix it but apparently it's a fairly common problem, particularly with the A7750s. I have one in the shop right now. There was a thread about the 7750 problem here somewhere (Francisco, I think) and that one looked like a [censored] to fix. Hopefully the 2824 series isn't so bad.

I wish I knew the answer to this as well. Last time I bought a "standard" size 2824 this is what I wound up with. It sure would be nice if one of you DJ experts need to explain exactly what we should be looking for. It sure seems to me that the size needed is the largest size made or at least the 2nd to the largest.

I've still got a few of those. The SSD, the LV, Seiko vintage,and the Fa Jones. The others have been replaced with different ones as my tastes changed. The Datejust has been replaced with 3 Franken DJs. The Pam 005 with a 183 and the Omega GMT with a 42mm Planet Ocean. And I've added a DW cased Daytona 6263 and and Ebel 1911. The latest was the UN Blue Surf. I've also bought and sold about 10 others. The collection never seems to shrink enough to fit my watch box.

I have one that appears to be the same other than the color of the wood. I think it was about $40US. I like it although my wife's using it now. This picture was a while ago. Most of the watches are long gone.

Just make sure you get a signed and notarized letter from your friend that he won't hold it against you when it breaks.

For what it's worth, I put an old gen DJ plastic crystal off of a 16014 into a rep Explorer II and it fit. Looks pretty good too. Of course that was replacing a rep plastic one. I wasn't aware that the newer DJ's had a different sized bezel? Interesting, I was thinking about changing one.

I can't help you with O'frei, but you ought to try Clark Watch Parts on eBay. Gary Clark will answer your e mail very quickly and he stocks a lot of generic Rolex crystals of excellent quality. He will also know which part you're looking for. I believe his user name is Nostalgia2000.

I would strongly suggest you practice with a cheap 21j movement unless you have very steady hands and decent hand removal and replacement tools. If you buy the movement and take it to a professional I wouldn't think the exchange would be very expensive. Probably less than 1/2 hour to do.

From what I researched the 571, 371, 71H, and 71 will all fit. Like Nanuq says, 571 seem to be most common.

The Rolex Quartz 5100: OysterQuartz.net In 1968 an industrial consortium of Swiss watch manufacturers was created to mass produce the Beta 21. This was a true collaborative effort among otherwise competing watch companies, all of whom would be using the Beta 21 in their own branded quartz watches. The CEH itself designed the module and produced the integrated circuit. Ebauches SA (the forerunner of today's ETA) manufactured the mechanical parts of the movement as well as the quartz oscillator. Omega was responsible for producing the micromotor that powered the watch hands. This "motor" was really a vibrating unit that drove a tiny horizontal pendulum set to oscillate at 256Hz and this pendulum drove the hands by means of a ratchet and index wheel. (This drive mechanism was virtually identical to that used on the original Bulova Acutron.) The end result was that unlike with modern quartz movements, the second hand of a Beta 21 watch moved around the dial smoothly

It shouldn't cost near that much to have the movement serviced. Well less than $100, and you'll be good to go for another 5 years minimum.

Mine does the same thing. I've had if worked on twice and the GMT hand has never been accurate. I've given up on it.
