  1. This goes both ways. You can't post a post and not expect a reaction. So, to take it back on-off-topic, I fail to see how an economic disaster will stop grid electricity while still allowing the fuel-producing infrastructure to deliver petrol to the stations for the gennies. Human survival requires food, shelter, warmth and other people. Your now-deleted list didn't cover this (or Maslow's heirarchy of needs) as it was written by camo-wearin' poklips-lovin' good ol' boys. They probably scribbled off "Commnist Invasion" from the top and nearly wrote "Terrrrrrist Attack" but looked at the news and put "Eeknomic Crash" there at the last minute. Only the selfish run to the hills with the gennie in the back of the truck. I bet they already have hidden ammo caches, too. They say the AP rounds are for thick-skinned deer, but damn, secretly they wants to be shootin' sum fella that needed a-killin'.
  2. Nope, it's called ADVERTISING. There's a difference.
  3. It's a different style to the 3717. I prefer the 3719, but it's a taste issue. Both are equally well made. It's smaller than the Cousteau, has less AR but a better bezel mechanism. Choose the Aquatimer over the Cousteau because ...
  4. As this isn't posted in Humour, I suspect it's to be treated seriously. I also suspect there is a large group of people that want this to happen.
  5. It's mechanical. Sometimes 7750s can need a little ... persuasion to get the chronos running. Amazing something so fragile and precision can require such force. ps. Feel free to set the time forwards or backwards, even past midnight.
  6. When you push the start button, it can sometimes be very stiff. Give it some stick. Also, NEVER change the day/date between 10pm and 2am.
  7. No contest, Double AR looks good. It makes it less likely to be called out as a rep, even if it makes it less accurate.
  8. I've fallen off the wagon.
  9. 100% Swiss under those plates and not at all an accurate replica. The problem is that the only accurate replica Panerais with 100% Swiss movements are those with closed casebacks. I don't think this is the kind of movement he's talking about though.
  10. May be extreme? It's [censored]ing nuts, that's what it is. Also, you're missing the same stuff as all the "I gots me guns in tham thar sheltar" selfish fruitcakes. If some sort of crash happens and you start needing generators (although fuel is the large issue) who tends the nuclear generators and dams? Do you know what happens to untended nuclear power plants? What about chemical plants? We can't just run for the hills and expect to survive. We're far too entrenched in our microcosm that just walking away is one of the worst things we can do. ps. An economic crash of that scale is impossible. Money simply doesn't exist.
  11. Please show me a picture of what you call a 100% Swiss ETA movement in a replica.
  12. Check the Omega site.
  13. Like TTK's Gold Radiomir ... please?
  14. I think anyone over 10,000 posts should get deep discounts ... please?
  15. I'm quite sure that some members do get slightly discounted prices, but it wouldn't be gentlemanly to discuss it.
  16. Great pic of a sweet watch.
  17. ETA Quartz movements are cheap, luckily. The expensive end: http://www.julesborel.com/movements/MC07page7.htm
  18. The Zigmeister has spoken on this subject a few times and has effectively confirmed what Tourby was saying. To make "Swiss Movement" Panerai replicas, you need to use Asian bridges and other parts. Why? Because Panerai make the bridges and Swan's Necks themselves and finish the movement with their own plates. These parts are not available from either ETA or Panerai, so the counterfeiters need to make them in China. Why is this so unbelievable?
  19. Eww, it's Croissants au beurre, Pain au raisin and Pain au chocolat. Anything else is froux-froux for the tourists.
  20. Ok, this isn't an iPhone problem; It's a Lotus Notes problem. I know that sounds like a cop-out, but Lotus notoriously make this difficult for all PDAs when they first come out. This does work on a Mac with Notes, surprisingly, as you can sync Notes with the Mac OSX address book.
  21. On the 3717? It's the standard replica strap.
  22. This version is slightly inaccurate as he didn't give himself an enema. It was his wife who gave him the fatal enema and she was indicted for negligent homicide.
  23. Let's get one thing perfectly clear, no visible Panerai replica movements are 100% Swiss. The plates that say Panerai are obviously not of Swiss origin, for a start.
  24. Oh, I forgot to say, if The Zigmeister moves to Paris, I will organise a welcoming GTG about a month after he arrives. I'll hit Paris for a weekend for that.
